I'm sorry but the signing of Van Der Vart for 8M pisses al over the signing of Silva for 24M. This gu is involved in everything good for Spurs at the moment.

wrong, there is no such thing as value for money when comes to city. On wealth of owner/club, Silva cost about 50p, brilliant value for money.

Missing the point i'm afraid mate.

im not, vdv was a lucky buy by spurs who had no intention of signing him till he was offered cheap, as it is he's had a very good 1st month but that's it, silva's looked really good too, so for you to judge now, is frankly ludicrous.

If united, liverpool, arsenal, chelsea, spurs had the money they'd have bought silva, as it is, they don't, and only 1 of them thought VdV was worth buying at a knock off price, says it all.

I'm not talking about money. This guy has taken off in around half a dozen games whereas Silva is still supposedly feeling his way in. I can judge this early as he has done the same everywhere he's been. Time will tell.

Indeed.

VDV is overrated and is becoming even more so. Form does not equal talent, wait until the end of the season and we'll compare records.

Ok Spurs got a bargain. Good for them. You sound like you're rooting for him to prove better than Silva. Which seems kind of odd to me. Do you not want Silva to be brilliant?

Yes I want Silva to be brilliant. I am just pointing out that I was slagged off when Spurs first signed VDV nad that so far he is doing exactly what I said he would. I just wnat people to take of the rose tinted glasses where Silva is concerned. The jury is still out. As I said I hope he comes good and eclipses VDV but for now VDV is the real deal and I wish he was in our team.

Different type of players vdv is really just a attacking mid who score goals but put in the middle and let him create for others, that is not his style and that is why he was never a success in spain because there the game is slow build up and he can't get into position and he is also not as versatile as people say as he can only play as an attacking mid.

In england it suits him down to a t as all them long balls into the box are good for his late runs and shooting prowess whereas silva is more of a creative player who likes to make people and the team play and can come up with the odd goal,i am sure vdv would score a lot more goals for us but he wouldn't be as creative whereas silva would create way more for tottenham.

But someone here posted that Silva created the second highest amount of chances in Spain last season, which was countered by VDV creating more chances per minute and thus being the more creative. He also made more passes per minute and tackles than Silva. And that is in a league which was foreign to him. So far this season they have both played the same number of minutes, but VDV has created 2 more chances. It will be interesting to see who comes out on top at the end of the season, but I personally think if Silva tuirns out to be as good as VDV you'll have done well out of that transfer deal, but many here seem to think Silva is already better and soon will be considered in a different league.

In terms of creating chances and passes, I think he chould be more compared to Modric, but I'd be very impressed with Silva if he gets within 80% of Modric's totals by the end of the season.
