Veganism

You don't see a difference but vegans and vegetarians do.
I do see the difference. And I'll eat both of the motherfuckers. Because that's what humans can do. I like veggies and I like fruit. But we're also evolved to eat meat. And fish. And eggs. And chicken. And cheese. And drink milk. And eat blueberries. Really don't see the difference in paying a few quid for a bit of pork than paying the same amount for some fruit and veg

It's not an insult to complain about your pedantry. It does make you come across like Mr Logic - you are being pedantic to a ridiculous degree.

Now how about addressing the content of my posts, rather than always skirting around it?

You had a friendly warning, the next time is on you.

I have yet to find anything you've said to be worthy of commenting on or have addressed it to BlueTangerine elsewhere.

Not tried tofu, but yeah I eat that stuff, along with lots of other things. The vegan diet isn't as limited as you think I bet. All you have to do really is understand your tastebuds mean fuck all.
Fuck all? Their sole function is to protect you from eating foods and substances that are harmful to your body before you ingest them. The fact we also enjoy the flavour of food is irrelevant from a "survival/naturist" aspect, although you could argue that tastebuds helps encourage us to eat more of the same due to our likeness of the flavour, so we can identify more with the foods we require to keep ourselves healthy. Personal preference to types of foods is another avenue of discussion entirely. "Tastebuds mean fuck all"; what absolute nonsense.

So, about 'friendly warnings': do you just issue them to people you disagree with, or would you say you apply these consistently? So if for instance, a poster has used insulting language in this thread, are you going to issue them with a warning?

Is this still rumbling on. No one on either side will change the others mind so it's all pretty pointless.

It wasn't really about meat v veg. It was mainly bluetangerine and Hitler being morally superior because they didn't eat animals.

Something like that anyway.

There are plenty of examples of human habits, customs and beliefs which were once commonplace and are now considered inhumane, cruel or just plain wrong. Maybe vegetarians aren't lentil loving loons but are in fact ahead of the game in the next phase of human evolution? I'm not one myself but I respect those who are, and have an open mind about whether future generations will regard the slaughter of animals for food to be barbaric.

Certainly a strange thread, calling a meat eater and I am one a bit selfish seems to be a travesty to some on here, pretty much everyone is selfish to some extent, comparing mushrooms to cows to deflect from admitting ones own shortcomings is a little sad

Us humans do denial very well, have just finished a chicken dinner, it was already dead so it's alright, i know thats a huge cop out but it is certainly a better effort than tomatoes are farmed or chickens don't feel pain

How do you think you get your tomatoes? Of course they are farmed. Just like the chicken you just had for dinner. Did it feel pain before it died? Probably. Did the tomato feel pain as it was picked? Never know because tomatoes don't make noise. Both were alive. Both died and both got eaten. What's the difference.

And I actually hate fucking fungusy mushrooms. Never use them in my own cooking.

I never said tomatoes weren't farmed, in fact I said the exact opposite, the simple truth is our liking for a good burger outweighs the welfare of a cow, that makes us both selfish cunts, the Big difference is I admit it and you deny it

If I was hungry and someone put a live chicken in front of me I wouldn't kill it, most wouldn't that's the hypocrisy of the situation, killing animals because they taste nice is wrong

It was a bit of a rollercoaster and I should have come at it from a different angle. I'd had a bad day before I started the thread. People, including myself, got wound up and I can see why. Hey ho, hopefully it had some worth in it somewhere. I'm sorry for any offence caused to anyone. Funny, it really does read like I went out of my way to call random strangers selfish.. but that wasn't the point at all.

I admit liking meat. I wouldn't force it on anyone except my own kids who in my opinion need it. I would kill the chicken, remove it's feathers and insides, light a fire and roast it in a heartbeat. Survival of the fittest. I'd do the same to a cow, lamb, pig, whatever. Because I can. Might need a big knife for a cow. And that's not selfish. That's how things are. That's how things have developed to be. What I really disagree with is any vegan/vegetarian claiming the moral high ground because they eat dead vegetables instead of dead animals. You made a choice so fuck off home. Don't preach to me about how holier than fucking thou you are just because you eat different dead shit than I do.
