All this handshaking before every game gets on my tits. It never used to happen until blatter decided it was a good idea and would promote 'respect'.

i dont see the problem with it to be honest...
Agreed, it gives you more time at the ground to neck your pint and get to your seat after the players come out of the tunnel.

Kills the pre match atmosphere! makes it sterile.

Let's go back to the old ways, where the away team comes out first to a barrage of boo's and V's... chants of 'who the fucking hell are you' etc... then... chants of "Bring on the champions, bring on the champions"... then city take the field and everyone goes ballistic. Who is old enough to remember?

Agree to me it should always be get on with the business of the game and then shake hands and say well done at the final whistle. Leave all the "fairplay" bullshit to after the game when all is done and dusted. The old man always said "when you cross the white line, until the final whistle, the only hand you shake is a teammate of yours"

It's meaningless.

I think Mike Dean had the best refereeing performance i've seen this season... for any team.

I'd put him at the top of the list of Premier league referee's, i thought he'd done something to make me dislike him in the past, but his perfromances in the CC 1st leg and again at Stamford Bridge; he's been fair and got the big decisions correct.

Keep it up Mr Dean.

Ah yes - I remember the anticipation as you waited for City to come out the tunnel.

That's excellent refereeing. The officials have spotted a potential problem and taken action to make sure that nothing flares up before kick off. If it had, then it would have been a very difficult game for the referee to control and that one simple decision set the tone for the game.

Nice to see a referee use his common sense, every decision he made on Saturday as well was spot on.
