Very interesting article on the handshake.. (Guardian)

he had a brilliant game and got every decision spot on

if we would of had that wanker walton then we wouldnt have got that penalty and they would have got the drogba one and they would hae had 11 men

I have no problem with the handshake, it's just that crappy "Premier League Handshake" music they play at every ground. That's the thing that kills the atmosphere

Pre-match (and post-match) handshakes are meaningless if you have to do it. After the game, if you feel the players on the other team played fair (more or less), it's fair enough to shake hands with them. If some gorilla's tried to break my leg, there's no way in hell I'm shaking his hand after the game.

Was very impressed with Dean. Not scared to make the big decisions unlike that Dowd obviously was and a lot of referees are. God I can't believe i'm praising a referee.

That said, I'm pretty sure we've been at the end of some shocking decisions of his.

Agree entirely that he had a blinder on Saturday, though - just shows that refs can have good and bad games too and that what goes around (eventually) comes around.

Still waiting for the rags' run of awful decisions to come around, though...
