Viagogo selling premium match tickets

I used them a few years back as I took ten mates to Madrid, 100% tickets were waiting and genuine, if you look at citys home game you actually claim them at citys ticket office on matchday

You can only legally sell a football ticket through an authorised agent in England and Wales. This law only applies to football. Last season viagogo were the authorised agents and it was shown on several TV investigations that tickets were being bought at suppressed prices and sold at over inflated prices. The issue here is that by having official agents they can set whatever price they like, yet the individual cannot make the same profit legally.

This only happens in football in England and Wales. Tickets for all* other events can be resold.

So in a nutshell what pisses people off is that we are not legally allowed to make the same profits as you can for your Malaga FC and American football tickets.

*Errm except when our government decide otherwise e.g. Olympics 2012.

It doesn't piss most people off mate. Lots of us loathe touting amongst fellow Blues!

It doesn't look like there are any checks, I was able to go through the process of buying a ticket (I cancelled before putting payment in) without having to put any membership details in. Looks like City have seriously fucked up there, it will be mayhem come derby day

These seats would have sold out for season card holders if the Club hadn't hiked up the prices so much!

I was commenting on the legal route to resell via last season's method. I would rather give it to a mate for nothing than let viagogo profit, the new system through the club which appears to be based on the Liverpool model seems to be much better. 'Most' people was a generalisation- I agree with your post on reflection mate.
