Viagogo selling premium match tickets

Fucking hell...only just seen this thread, had a look on viagogo and the next block to mine and my lads seat are going for £735 a pair.

I've been unable to give a seasoncard away before so a good resale system reaching everyone is very welcome. Viagogo failed with Superbia and Platinum only along with their unreasonable fees / prices. The new system is ok but I'd rather have the cash in the bank for Cup matches.

I was commenting on the legal route to resell via last season's method. I would rather give it to a mate for nothing than let viagogo profit, the new system through the club which appears to be based on the Liverpool model seems to be much better. 'Most' people was a generalisation- I agree with your post on reflection mate.

Well said re Viagogo etc

Possibly, but maybe the club held some of them back for one off sale purposely. Are they sill selling premium s/c ?

Yes there is a sales campaign that you are faced with when entering the Official Site.

Some of Vianogo tickets are in the row behind where i have my season card for the coming season in 209. I know there are Bluemooners who have bought season cards in Row D as well.

The Club may have kept back a few tickets though like you say!

Tickets definitely still on sale....I've been hounded with 5 phone calls this week by the City ticket team trying to sell me season tickets in these areas.

Then again, when the tickets are around c£1,150 I'm not surprised that they are struggling.

Think we're going to have a fair few sub 51,000 gates this season.

Yes the price of the Premium tickets is too high but these represent about 5 percent of the seats in the ground. Blues who really want to go to the Chelski came can do so without using Vianogo.

Gates of 50k for less glamorous games will be a big success. Add in the glamour games and we could average more than Newcastle and have the third biggest crowds in the Country.

If at the end of the season we have averaged 52k or so that will be big progress. Our crowds are what they are, we can't instantly magic up as many fans at the rags or Arse.

I think 5% is probably a bit of an understatement, seeing as pretty much all of tier 2 in Colin bell and east stand is included.

The point is there wasn't much need to have those seats in the corners, say block 210 etc included, these could then have been sold at a more reasonable price I.e. £800 ish and then there would be no need for biology to be involved at all as these would probably be sold to actual fans.

As it is now, if we want to buy tickets when in Manchester then unfortunately we won't be able too, as the match day sales allocation will sell out and the only tickets left over will be touching £400 for one game.

And for the sake of argument, 52000 average is not a success for the season when it has cost HRH £80m.

That's less than 5,000 more than last few seasons average.

A fair point Ste and I agree that the Sheikh and Khaldoon will want to value it their investment. The ground development has also introduced the Premimum Seats (whatever people think of them) and the increased capacity will generate revenue from concerts, the rugby world Cup etc.

I don't know the Club's costings but the expansion could well add £8m in income per year that would be a ten year pay back - that given increased prestige with a bigger ground - seems OK to me.
