Vieira - I've let City down

He'll be great for De Jong to have around.

I like Vieira, he rarely looks back for a pass and gets forward on occasions to help the attack.

he is older and slower than he used to be which is a huge disadvantage in this league. has been very frustrating at times but he was superb against villa and it is clear he still have good vision. he holds the ball up well and as long as he gives 100% then thats what counts.

Fair play for saying that, it proves he still cares and isn't just looking for a final payday. He was brilliant against Villa but i don't think he's upto doing that on a weekly basis. You can see he still has the class that made him the best around for about a decade, it's just a shame his legs won't let him do the things his brain wants to.

If he was willing to take a pay cut and realise he won't be playing that often i'd keep him on for another season, could become a great coach in the near future.

Honest pro!! Play like you did at the weekend m8, and I'm sure most on here will forgive ya earlier performances.... ;)

Have to disagree with you Patrick... you haven't let anyone down. You were injured at the start, but have then come in and played a key role in about 5 or 6 goals, which neither Barry or De Jong would have created.

Dons tin hat and retires to the bunker before saying that PV reminds me of Steve McManaman, no longer got the legs or pacefrom we remember when they wore red, but are always in space looking for the ball, the difference being that now we have players that know that when we have the ball they need to be moving, either into space to receive a pass or to drag opposition players out of position to allow a team mate the space to run into.
Both players had the vision and quality to play the kiler pass, just PV's teammates are much better than McManaman had to put up with.
Has he the legs for wednesday night? I for one sincerely hope so.
(PS just heard Barry is fit for the game but Lescott and Ireland are out).

Agreed. Since his return from suspension, he's been solid as a rock.
I'm a fan.

loved him at arsenal, loved it when we signed him, love it that he feels the need to impress us, love his nickname (paddy lead-boots), love it when he stomps all over spurs.

-- Tue May 04, 2010 4:23 pm --
