Top clubs need cover in all areas of the field. I'd rather know we had an NDJ or Viera waiting in the wings than have to put a left back in in midfield and hope for the best.
 
Vieira arrived at Manchester Airport at 1730hrs tonight - Fact.
Flight was (not surprisingly) delayed.
 
Viera is a big signing WHAT the fuck?! The guy hasnt even bigged us up yet. 'Im only here to get in france's team and earn a wedge'
 
Dont get me wrong it may be a good signing i dont know how it will work out ,i like what i have seen of mancini so far so will trust him on this one , just hope we dont piss de jong off in the process because he potentially could play for us for many a year.

I can't see NDJ feeling threatened by a 33yr old. That's the beauty of it. We have an older player desperate to play and play well for the world cup and a younger lad, NDJ, just as keen to impress. NDJ won't feel threatened long term and will get more than enough football between now and the end of the season.

If we intend on doing well in both cups then we need more players.

If we do finish top 4 then we'll need even more cover.

Do you really need every new signing to say 'Manchester City are a big club, I want to do well here, they are a massive club' over and over again?

It's all bollocks anyway. Players say the same things whether they've just signed for Barca or Stalybridge. Always 'a big club' always 'want to do well'. It really doesn't matter.

Believe it or not most players are at the clubs they're at because of money and chances to win medals. Viera will love City no more than Bellamy, Tevez or Robinho. It's how it is.
