The last big spend the scum forked out was on Berbatov...Nearly 4 years ago.

Yeah and it was 4 years before that when we had last spent £30m on a player too, Rooney.

Still, pretty successful policy though eh?

So why didnt you get wesley schnieder when he came calling ??

surely it wasnt his wage demands was it..Truth is that since Berbatov you have not had a marque signing since.. That means one of two things;

1.You cant afford.( wesley schnieder)
2. No ones interested in you anymore.(except wesley schnieder)

I agree, but it's pretty much how we always do business. It's rare you see us spending £30m+ on a player.

Look at our squad: Vidic £7m, Evra £5m, Ferdinand £30m, Evans £0, Smalling £10m, Jones £18m, Rafael £2.5m, Fabio £2.5m, Carrick £16m, Anderson £20m, Park £4m, Rooney £30m, Cleverley £0, Welbeck £0, Berbatov £30m Valencia £16m, Nani £18m, Hernandez £7m

Mostly relatively modest transfer fees with a few £30m ones thrown in. Funny enough lots of the players we paid much less for have been just as (and in some cases more) successful than the £30m signings, so it's understandable that we don't spend huge money on players because there's simply no need to. If you have good scouts you can get quality players on the cheap or else spend £15-30m on young players that have clear potential to go on to be world class like Jones, De Gea etc.

And also when people berate the Glazers for not spending enough money, I wopnder do they realize that our wage bill has increased by 81% since they took over in 2005.

Now don't get me wrong, I hate the Glazers because they are responsible for large sums of money leaving the club on repayments and increased ticket prices, but our transfer philosophy hasn't dramatically changed under them either, we spend pretty much as we always have done.

No you bloody don't....

Heard a quote once about being a rag.... "mediocrity in a tin"............

But they keep anoying me and winning games, it'll come crashing down some time soon

-- Wed Mar 21, 2012 4:47 pm --

In fairness, manure have won every single game since Scholes returned except one,and he didn't play in that.
Much as I hate the half-blind rag twat, how exactly does a winning team show signs of weakness?

He and his fellow OAP only get wheeled out against inferior opposition.

I hope both of them get deployed against City.

And what a waste of money it would have been if we had of shelled out £250k a week on Sneijder seeing as he's been injured most of this season.

Decision justified.

Your 'no ones interested in you anymore' is a bit childish do you not think? United are, and will remain a top club for some time to come whether you like it or not tbh. I've been hearing the financial conspiracies for 7 long years now, and still we keep winning trophy after trophy. You'd think people would get bored of writing us off at this stage.

We have a few of our own and just because someone supports united is not a reason to ostracise them.

Why would you say that when it invites the retort: ''Who's top of the league?''

The mind boggles at times.

I must admit I'm surprised that they've kept being successful for so long, but there is an element of King Canute about united these days especially since Sheikh Mansour arrived.
