No. Vieira played in the defeat at West Brom and not in the win against Chelsea. He's finished as a World Class Player so I don't understand how he is a calming influence during a Match when he's not able to make a difference.

I'd have him as a Coach if the Players learn from him. Can he take David Platt's Job?

He is undoubtedly a positive member of the squad. Something that some lesser players should take notice of. I am not sure of the financial deal is on but I would imagine he has been promised a position on RM's ever burgeoning team on the side.

He will be useful in UEFA games when we need to rest one of "the brothers in midfield". I was suspicious when he was brought into the Club but I understand what mentality RM wants in his squad and Paddy (as I like to call him) personifies and oozes professionalism.

More than happy to see him at the club in a coaching role but he's finished as a player

I've seen too many top professionals who I've though would make great coaches or managers end up being a pile of dog shit at it. And just as many average to middling players make good. So I've stopped trying to call it either way.

I know that's not the same as what you're saying but, I just thought I'd say it anyway.

I know this is an overused saying here, but that is honestly the worst post I have ever read.
Every single sentence of that is just nonsense.

He played in a game where we got beat, and not one where we won therefore he's finished? How does that work?

You don't understand how he's a claiming influence, even though 5 City players, who are professional footballers who play with the lad, in addition to our manager, Mancini have all said as much?

How do you work out that Vieira isn't able to make a difference? Pretty sure he scored the equaliser against Blackburn, and has several goals/assists since he got here. He also has one of the highest pass completion rates at the club.

Then, he finishes this off with a jibe at Platt because he's unfashionable. I have said this over ten times now and have yet to hear a reply that is anywhere close to decent; what are your specific gripes about him apart from the fact that he failed in a comp[etely different role and he said nasty things about us?

I think Vieira can still play against the lesser sides, and very well too. Burnley away last season he was immense, and against Timisoara a few weeks ago.

He can give a much needed rest to the likes of Yaya and Barry.

I think Mancini brought him in for just this reason, to be a positive influence on all those around him, especially the younger element. If he stays on as a coach I wouldn't be surprised, especially as I have a sneaking suspicion that Mancini may have brought him here with the promise of starting his coaching career with us much as Sven did with Roberto.
