Villa fan found guilty of punching nine year old City fan at Cup Final

Just for those that don’t remember, the boy being attacked and this poor woman:
All because of the targetted, prolonged and unabashed hatred of our club propagated by the media;

and the cheek of the police saying it’s wasn’t because she’s a city employee, boggles the mind!

I profusely apologize for linking the sun but I’ll be damned if it’s not the only source I could find!

To be fair, city also stated that,
But in 54yrs watch city & football I've never ever seen or heard any employee's being attacked were their wearing the company's/clubs uniform,
Also didn't sterling get punched at the campus before or after the girls attack..

If City know the woman wasn't attacked for wearing club colours why have they not disclosed why she was attacked?

I presume they're implying it was a random attack although the anti-City abuse would seem to contradict that. I wonder if she had a City badge on the back window (never a good idea)?

It does raise some other questions such as what was squirted in her face and how did they just happen to have it handy? The other big question is, did the police make any arrests and if not why?

It was probably fanta the way sun sensationalise things.

My first time at Maine road. I was 11 and me Dad took me to see my faves, Leeds.
Walking home after the game a tranny (van not man) pulled up and a crew jumped out. They'd seen my silk Leeds scarf.
Once my Dad had talked them out of testing us they gave us a lift to Vic station.
That was the day I became a Blue.

The ones I came across were ok. We actually had a drink in Harrow and ended up in a Villa pub. Clearly we didn’t raise our head above and we moved on. Bit of banter along WW with a line of police horses but nothing too major, saw none in our end and after the game was a bit moody on the way back to Wembley Central as that was where a lot of Villa fans were but didn’t see anything major. I’ve always found the cops deal with Wembley games well and are on to trouble fairly quickly. Had a decent chat on tube back to Watford junction and all pretty uneventful.

Of all our Wembley trips,United was the edgiest but where I was it was safety in numbers. Stoke was fine, Sunderland was fine bar the scuffle in our end with that block of fans who celebrated their goal and Liverpool was ok. We actually had a decent drink on Euston road in mixed City/Dipper pubs and didnt see any trouble although I believe there was some in places. Watford was good to and a very enjoyable day given the ease of the win. Bit of aggro v Chelsea at the semi but didn’t see any at the final and a bit v Arsenal at the final. The worst trouble I’ve seen was between pissed up city fans.
Stoke were surprisingly sound. Our coach broke down and we were at their end of the stadium so couldn’t get in the pubs and they brought drinks out for us

Without wanting to sound a twat, but did it ever occur to you that winding them up further might cause issues like this kid getting a slap ?

They were complete bellends in the main, but there were plenty of blues in that queue that were just as stupid (pissed up) as the villa fans, sometimes keeping your trap shut is a better idea.

The only thing that surprised me was that it didn't kick off big time, both sets of idiots seemed ready for it.
I wasn’t abusive, I stayed calm and generally watched them make fools of themselves. Our mere presence was enough to wind them up that day. I wasn’t gonna stand there while they “tried” to abuse us and go on about their European Cup win lol

It still baffles me today that there are people that go to Wembley and don't think there will be any confrontation between opposing fan's. You might not happen to see it but I can assure you it happens at every final. We even had Millwall fighting between themselves. The Majority of people pass this by and that is how it should be in the bigger picture but the real World it happens and will continue.
