Villa (H) Post Match Thread

I think you’re mostly right.
But I do believe they know the rules of the game, they’re just annoyed they were applied fairly to City for once.

Constantly pissed off with all the negativity attached to our club.

100 pts, 100 goals, 18 wins on the bounce, holder of all the domestic trophies at once the list goes on, and it is all as good as brushed under the carpet by these so called experts.

I do see a shift in the negativity in the media against City. The real issue is the lack of objective reporting of football in the MSM limited to only favourable comment on a few clubs.

Clicks, comments and social media are where we are and dominated with ManU and Liverpool the overwhelming beneficiaries to the exclusion of others. The balance is changing with the danger that Manchester City will become like them in the MSM.

Charlatans who have stolen a living reporting. like the Whats App group, need to be continue to be exposed and their sponsors suffer.

I see Tom Heaton thinks the offside law should be changed after City's first goal on Wednesday, which "was a hard one to take". It is easy for those who believe they have been wronged to demand a change to the existing laws but this is often a very dangerous attitude. Heaton's attitude has at least moved on to acceptance that allowing the goal was the only possible course of action within the rules but it seems that the goal "was a hard one to take" simply because Tyrone Mings (who had had an excellent game up to that point) dropped one hell of a clanger. The present law does give Mings, and everyone else, clear guidance on what can and cannot happen in those circumstances and this incudes all of the seven Villa players in their own half and looking at Mings. Why did none of them scream at him to leave it or clear it?

But we are ignoring the danger of fiddling with the laws and actually making things worse in a fit of pique. This is a disease of our time. There was near unanimous approval for the introduction of VAR to make sure decisions were right. Has it done that.... Then there was agreement that VAR would ensure that offside decisions given were really offside. But can your nose really be offside? The belief now is that mathematical measurement of offside leads to ludicrous decisions and really does make the law an ass. But what is the alternative... And then there is handball! There was widespread discontent when defenders, spreading arms and legs like a goalkeeper, dashed towards attackers trying to shoot or cross and were not penalised when blocking either with an arm. This was "accidental" - but are we any nearer knowing exactly what does constitute "deliberate" handball. So whatever the attitude of some of our fans or anyone else's the present law gives clear guidance to everyone on what the law is and on Wednesday there was no question as to whether the case met the mathematical requirements of the law or not. The referee applied the law in force and that is why VAR did not become involved.
VAR did become involved. It confirmed the decision was correct!! It checked the goal.

Just watched the extended highlights on BT,two other things i noticed about that Mcpointy twat.
Villa were attacking towards the end of the game and they lost the ball through a bad pass, the scouse twat screamed Aaaarrgh in despair, and what is the constant sniffing about ?..disgusting twat.
