Villa (H) Post Match Thread

Rodri gained 20 odd yards on Mings before he touched the ball. He was in the perfect position to dispossess him due to the run he had made from an offside position.

My argument isn’t that Rodri was offside because the law states he clearly wasn’t, it’s that the law should change so Rodri should be offside.
I expect they will change the law...and back date it.

That looked a bit like the Leicester game when Vinny came to the rescue. We do have a collective brain fart in front of goal when breaking the back of the net would do just fine.
The inability to get the ball past the first blocking defender is jaw dropping.

On 'another day' that McGinn shot goes in and Dias puts into his own net. On another, 'another day' we score anything between five and ten goals. City much the better team tonight and the goals came from a couple of our many match-winners. Like I said before, Villa only have Grealish and most of their dangerous play tonight started or went through him. Take him out of the team and they're just Palace with a different coloured top.
I thought Villa were surprisingly good, I haven't watched a huge amount of non-City games this season but I thought they looked better than a lot of the teams talked of as title contenders. Can see them easily finishing in the European places depending on how and where their games in hand are jammed in to their schedule.

Fuck Villa and fuck their fans, they deserve nothing but plague and pestilence.. I’m entitled to that opinion, am I not??
Completely agree with fuck Villas fans, bunch of absolute cunts at the League Cup final. And yes you are entitled to that opinion and I agree with it. But the players did defend really well and gave us a good game. Which is my opinion of the match.

Does the fact Rodders gets back onside by dropping behind another Villa defender who was deeper than Mings (phase 1) then tackling Mings (phase 2) mean it’s irrelevant anyway....even though my point is irrelevant also? :)

I did say this before the game, Villa are one of the best sides in the league. They are better than Chelsea, Arsenal, Everton and on a good day, Spurs.

The only reason they are down in 11th is because they've got 3 games in hand on most of the clubs above them.
