Villa (H) Post Match Thread

Remember Ross Barkley playing for Chelsea heading the ball back towards his own goal and Aguero being in an offside position scoring from it, but he wasn't offside as the ball was played by the defending team!

Here's the image of Rodri, who was in an onside position before he took the ball off Mings
This still is just before Mings takes his second touch

If Villa had scored a goal similar to our "controversial" goal there wouldnt have been a thing said ,and if Villa had lost that game 7-2 or 8-2 they couldnt have complained , Dean Smith and his players maybe should spend more time learning the rules of the game , theyve just had 3 weeks sitting on their arse , Smith the f*cking mard arse ,should have given his players a book about the laws of the game to read and digest.

I did say this before the game, Villa are one of the best sides in the league. They are better than Chelsea, Arsenal, Everton and on a good day, Spurs.

The only reason they are down in 11th is because they've got 3 games in hand on most of the clubs above them.
I thought the way they closed us down and made the blocks aggressively was excellent, most teams just pack the box and the players just defend the small area around them but they had a good level of intelligence and fluidity about their defensive shape, this then gave them enough players upfield to have options for an easy out ball. If they play close to the level they did today for the rest of the season then I wouldn't be surprised to see them finish in the top four. They're a well drilled and skilful team.

Looked to me like Mings might have been trying to be clever and catch Rodri offside for a free kick. Obviously should have learnt the rules better.

Love it, Walton being forced to admit he didn't know the rule book he is paid to know.

Well done Robbie Savage sticking up for us.

As for Bernie, he has been back to his best for three or four weeks, him and Gundo won us that with their desire to keep going.

Sterling and Jesus need to either get with it or don't fucking sulk if other players are in better form.

Thought it was Rodri's best game for a while, but our midfield never learnt that Grealish likes to drive inside with the ball.

Phew.
The coverage is pitiful for every game, Walton has been appalling for years firstly as a ref and now as the studio expert. Surely someone in the BT Sport management will be preparing his P45, if his knowledge of the laws is so poor what use is he?
