Villa Vs City Post Match Discussion Thread

We all know city play away from home .That is fact. But what about 3 points away from home.

Sorry mates, but I've been away all day long, haven't seen highlights nor read a word on the game. So please help me out.
I guess all I need to know is:

1) Did we deserve to loose?
2) Any specific player worth highlighting for a poor/great performance?

I'll try to catch up more thoroughly tomorrow.

If you don't create enough clear-cut chances and keep crossing to absolutely nobody but Villa heads and feet, or what you do create you don't convert...then are sloppy as owt at the back...then yes we deserved to lose, or maybe that's the wrong way if saying it - Villa didn't not deserve to win. No team doesn't deserve it if they take their chances.

Granted their first was offside but if we'd created actual chances on the back of utter domination, and a Villa team that looked like the worst side we'd played all season, in the first half then we wouldn't have needed to worry about one offside goal.

Poor performances from Kompany Nastasić and Milner. Great performances from Nasri but he was taken off and Yaya when he felt like it (but went missing from 70mins onwards).

I'm inclined to at least partly blame Dzeko and Negredo for this, their positioning and co-ordinated play was poor, too often one went to the near post, the other to the far post leaving nobody in front of goal when the crosses came in.

And yes, we didn't deserve to win, no team does that concedes such needless goals.

Just watched the highlights on match of the day . Yes we were unlucky but the defending was shocking again . Nasty was really poor today . Kompany and Hart were just as poor . The defending on that 3rd goal was shocking it reminded me of Upson and Terry against Germany in the world cup of 2010 .If I were Pellergrini I would try that bit harder to make are defence better .

Can't believe Martinez' summary. "The linesman did well not to give that" (offside goal). "If you are not sure, you should give the benefit to the attacker." What, a bit like Zaba got for the potential penalty shout? Did well to make a mistake? I hope we get an offside goal against Everton in a few weeks. In fact, I would like to win with an offside goal, but would sacrifice this in favour of smashing them by three or four.

Then he goes on to say we carried no attacking threat and only scored through set pieces. He clearly didn't pay attention to the match stats at the end of the highlights. I mentally switched off at this point.

I am despondent at the moment, but not too worried. At least we look like we have the potential to go on a decent run, and beat the good teams. United on the other hand look like they are in for a very hard season. I definitely think their fear factor has gone now. I popped over for a visit at the Cafe earlier, and almost to a fan they think Ferdinand is finished. Buttner is not rated, Kagawa under-performed, even Carrick is getting stick for below-par performances this season. Fellaini doesn't have many in his fan club at the moment either.

Martinez is usually spot fucking on with anything football wise. I've always respected his knowledge and fairness.

For him to come out with such ludicrous wank really does cement in my mind how 'scripted' MOTD really is.

I hope we smash Everton now.

Just got back in now gutted to be honest first half we played them off the pitch i thought could/should have been 2 or 3 in front unfortunately we just didn't finish them off and it came back and kicked us up the arse, quite a few had good games Toure and Nasri stood out. No way we deserved to lose but we did just got to live with it beauty of the game. Ain't seen it yet but was their first goal offside looked it but hard to tell from the corner, that was the point the game swung.

Yeh, well the bad teams seem to be the ones we struggle against. It either must be that players can't handle pressure away from home or arrogance, infuriating if it is the latter, as we should have learned our lesson by now!
