Villa Vs City Post Match Thread

why set up with two defensive midfielders against one of the worst teams in the league?
why Navas for Bony leaving us with no striker?
why wait 80 minutes when nothing was happening?
why Delph for Toure when we needed players that can score?
why did it take 84 minutes before bringing a striker on?

he has to go if Guardiola is available

We had enough international on the pitch to play up front KDB sterling navas anyone of them can find space and finish and they didnt just was one of them games we had enough chances to win it so we didnt win but we didnt lose ether .

Who the fuck showed up today then Toure, KDB, Sterling????? Total shit house performance against the worst team in the league. Pellers tactics were ridiculous at best, why the hell did he not use Nacho when Bony went off, why did he put Delph on knowing it would wind up the crowd?? I am fucking livid with throwing away 2 points today!

What was it he said?

We can't make the same mistakes as last season, says City boss Manuel Pellegrini...

Navas trying to cross to a 5'6 striker - why?
Navas trying to cross - why - he's fkin back to his usual dreadful best.
Navas - the opposition's man of the match for a change - he won them most of their possession, well played
Their keeper had the most possession of all the players on the pitch
4 minutes injury time? 5 subs and god knows how much time wasted with diving.
Villa were desperate for a point and spoiled the game to achieve it - the ref was weak to allow it

Sterling needs to be fined every time he kicks the ball with his right foot in training this week. He can't have been worse than this at liverpool. I'd play him exclusively on the right

What was the point in bringing on delph?

No tempo, no cutting edge, no Aguero, no chance

No one wins the league until May, we know that more than anyone. Let Arsenal get giddy before the usual collapse comes.

Very poor display. Two points dropped against easily the worst team in the League. Players looked uninterested first half. Navas made a difference the moment he came on. sterling is not a CF and his finishing is simply not good enough. De Bruyne also not at the races today, ditto Yaya and Fernandinho. Sagna our best player (Micah Richards theirs). Pellegrini taking far too long to bring Kelechi on. He should have been on at 70 mins and leave Delph for the last 10. Gestede should have been booked for that episode of returning the ball to us after we kicked it out to allow their player treatment. Hope we remember that for the return fixture.

I want a different manager. I don't care if this comes across as flapping, I've had it with this moron. There's 10 managers in the league who could do a better job with our squad. And our training methods that leave half of our team injured all season, he can fuck right off with that as well. Good riddance.
But we should be thrilled! Midweek he masterminded a qin against the team 13th in La Liga! YAY!

I have no doubt we'll win the league comfortably and this result won't matter too much when all's said and done.

But HOW THE FUCK do you leave your only striker on the bench for 85 minutes against bottom of the league when it's quite clear that no one else on the pitch it capable of hitting a cows arse?

Absolutely baffling.

No vitriol or hyperbole from me this afternoon but I will say that Pellegrini made some mistakes in this one as I can't say any player had a bad match. We missed chance, to be sure, but poor tactics and decisions lost us this game.

Not sure if he knew something we didn't but bringing on Navas for Bony was very surprising... In some ways bewildering.

But onward and upward, as they say.

Top of the league, qualified for the cl with 2 games to spare and quarters of lc, some of you muppets need to fuck off and support someone else.Bad finishing was all that cost us today.

I think you'll find having no strikers on the field for most of the game played a rather large part also.

Not a bad performance at all. But it's about putting it in the net. I think back to the rags 6 goals from 6 shots and their win against Spurs without a single shot, and I dream of that sort of luck. Still, clean sheet, plenty of chances and a point. We dust ourselves down and pick ourselves up safe in the knowledge that Lady Luck is not going to help us.

on the positive it was a potential banana skin avoided and a point away after a champs league away game that would have mentally and physically drained the players.

The not replacing Bony (who had done absolutely nothing before he came off) with Nacho is a strange one.........maybe Mp thinks he isn't at the level where he can lead the line on his own...but we all know sterling (who played well imho) isn't a natural finisher and then to play KDB/yaya out of position when he has seen that neither of them want to play up there/arent as effective is again strange one.

Maybe MP thinks Nacho isn't ready tp lead the line on his own but he has to start somewhere and today was a game to maybe take a chance on it.

At least we go into the international break knowing that at the end of it we should have Kun, Silva back fit and now Bony is injured I'm guessing he won't link up with the national squad either......if we can get through the international break with everyone unscathed then hopefully we will have everyone at full fitness for the run up to games at xmas......
