Vincent Kompany - 2016/17 performances

He brings organization, defending, penetration and most evident today....physicality. Over the moon hes played so well and so often the final quarter of the season. Fingers crossed he keeps his fitness and is good for next season.

Pep deserves enormous credit getting Kompany back to full fitness. He seems to go into challenges strongly and without fear. Wonderful to see.

I assume you mean West Brom, and that had more to do with everyone stopping playing when Zabaleta came on.

Vinnie off just showed that no matter how good Stones/Ota look next to him, they're not leaders and can't do it themselves.

We need another experienced leader in there, Vinnie can then rest/rotate and Ota can be backup.

I'd be looking at the Bonucci end of the scale than say a Laporte or VVD, who are undoubtedly very good but I don't see having the leadership or experience to nurture Ota and Stones.

Proof is in the end to the season mate, as you've stated, ota has looked brilliant, that's not because he is suddenly a better player but the pairing, for that to be sustained we need a contingency to komps, the fall guy will be ota!

problem is we need someone who will do a Vinny when Vinny isn't there, not someone who can learn off him, we already have Stones in that role.
