Don't tell me he was one of the gang of four, or however many of them there were. I'm really behind the curve with the ins and outs of this anti-Mancini plot bar a few rumblings. I'm not going push this particular theory too much because it's only conjecture due to the lack of any hard information.
What I would say is that you can't have the pigs running the farmyard. The team seems to have been lacking in effort and commitment these past 2 seasons. You can lay this at Pellegrini's door or you can read other things into it. My hope is that he is a sending out a message to the players in order to assert his authority and is trying to weed out who he sees as the main protagonists and the hope is that the ownership are backing him.
I hope the next time it ever happens the hierarchy, as a matter of principle and for the long term good of the club, backs the man who is supposed to be in charge rather than backing the pigs.
