Lol,i like to look after those who have brought us so much glory not turf them out on their ear
I never disagreed, which is why you see who you see at City all the time. I just don’t think Vinny sees himself as ready for the Zimmer frame yet, esp with a World Cup on the horizon, that’s all.

That's commendable Karen. I'm only saying that I was able to rightly judge the identity of a poster by identifying her style. I think the style you adopted in that post is quite similar to that in some of your previous posts.

i can't do with being predictable,i shall try a different style for a while lol

If there's one player that I would always give the benefit of doubt to it's Vinny. He is a bonafide club legend. The problem he has these days is that we no longer rely on him like we used to. It was always a case that he would be a glaring miss when injured but as sad as it is to say, I feel we've started to outgrow him. He's no longer the most important player on the teamsheet.

The only negative of today (and this season really)

Think someone needs to have a talk with Vinny about his long term health. He just can't stay at this. He's got the mind to stay in the game but his body has betrayed him at this point. I hope he considers a career in coaching, or even in the front office. Class act and an intelligent, down to earth guy who I hope is associated with the club for many, many more years.

Its been a great day
Yes Karen. I'm so delighted at the win just as you. I was at the edge of my seat in the last 20 mins and my nerves almost got shattered at the start of both halves (the first half because of course it's a derby and second half because we had lost our captain to injury). Congrats to you and every blue!

We can't rely on him any longer to have a sustained injury free run of, say, 12 games. I'd forget about Sanchez in january and would be looking for a CB (and a LB).

Hope he will play a match here and there to hold his fitness and will go for it at the world cup for us. People here are doubting he will lose his place in the world cup team. If he's fit, he will play. We have Vertonghen, Alderweireld and Kompany as our only decent CB's. After those, it's Vermaelen, Kabasele, ... Who aren't near the level we need. Our world cup is entirely dependent of our injury prone CB's [emoji58]

Sad if true, but peps words in his post match interview were telling, kompany should be and most likely will be used in some capacity at the club if that’s coaching or an ambassador role,he’s blue through and through and is held in high regard by the club, hopefully he can get back and get a run of games but have the feeling he will be moved on,January can’t come quick enough now to find a replacement...

Keep him on a pay as you play contract. The guy is the best in the world when he's fit.
Problem with that is that foreign squad places are far more valuable than money. A backup CB who can't be relied upon to be fit when you need them is a liability unfortunately

I don't doubt that his injury record makes him unreliable, but we've got Bravo as a second choice goalkeeper. I'd lose him as a foreign player before Kompany. Plus let's not forget the contribution Vinnie makes in the dressing room, or the fear that he instils in other strikers when he plays for us. He absolutely dominated Lukaku in the first half today, he did the same with Vardy at Leicester for 90 minutes, the same player that tore Stones and Kolarov apart the season before. Pay-as-you-play contract is the way forward with Vinnie imo.
