Haha of course it does, as it was the whole point of the promotion campaign, to go up and stay up. They didn't say not to worry that we didn't compete in the slightest in the premier league, we had a good season the season before. His promotion campaign was great, their premier league campaign was laughable. What are these records you speak of? A quick glance tells me the obvious ones they dont hold?

I don’t think he/she is, they’re simply stating facts about Kompany’s campaign in the PL, which somehow then got him one of the biggest jobs at one of the biggest clubs in the world. It was a very strange decision by Bayern, albeit one after being rejected by other candidates.

So you think Bayern took a chance then? I'm sure they didn't just flip a coin, they will have had very in depth dicussions with him before they offered him the job. Clearly they think he can deliver so let's see how it pans out, so far it's looking good for Vinnie.

They took him after being rejected by, I’m sure it was reported, as 10 candidates who rejected it.

I said at the time, would we have took on a manager who relegated a team in that fashion? Only the rags do that as far as i can recall, and now Bayern.

I get what you’re saying about Vinny and you’re right, but Bayern have employed him on his potential and have taken the advice of Pep. That’s it, forget Burnley, forget he was our great captain for many years, it’s his potential.

He's had a cracking start in the league. Better than the far more experienced Tuchel. Time will tell of he's up to it but I think they'll be pleased with how the big man is doing.

CL form hasn't been great and they are topping a table they are widely expected to win. As someone said, Bayern fans sound unsure (the few you read and hear about) Whatever people might think I really want him to succeed and be the man for us one day, but on achievements and merit rather than history and name.

Which is the only proviso under which anybody should be recruited for us.

We have plenty of ex-players who are well respected and remembered for their service as players, but who would not be suitable as managers of the club.
