Vincent Kompany | Bayern Munich Manager

Not a fan of the German rags but pleased for VK. For everyone that queried his credentials for the job sometimes it makes sense to invest in potential. VK showed he had that at Burnley despite the ill-judged relegation season and his dedication in coming back from numerous injuries at City showed his grit and determination.
We now just need Pep to extend until 2029 when VK can take over ;)

He's doing a much better job than the two big names before him. Proving to be a brilliant manager, they're probably the form team in the world this season.

Just signed a new four-year deal.

Technically a 2 year extension as he still has 2 years left on his deal. Shows confidence in him and possibly just makes it harder for other clubs to get him. 2029 might tie in with another job coming available, who knows...

Outside looking in, its a job that seems easy for any competent manager but I don't think it is, other bigger names in management have failed. I do think there is limitations on how well he can do because of the advantage bayern have in their league but he's doing a good job, happy for them to continue to develop him for us when Pep leaves.

Its going to be magnificent to come along and poach somebody from Bayern against their wishes simply because of their desire to come to us and give them a taste of their own medicine.

I hope the timing of the managerial merry go round affords us a stand in manager between Pep leaving and Vinny arriving if that is to happen. Stepping straight into Pep's shoes might well be a poisoned chalice unless Vinny could shadow him as an assistant for a season and i guess you don't get many managers of Bayern who are happy to move on to a second in command role albeit a temporary one.

We could always get Big Ange in for 39 days or so !

Maybe I’m being optimistic and a little bit delusional.

Kompany is the clear successor to Pep.

Pep openly speaking about how motivated he is currently and these new players are learning so much under him.

Personally I think behind the scenes everyone believes he’s said he may stay longer than his current contract.

He has said this will be his last club job/will take a long break/move into international football. But never said when. I think we still see more of Pep here and this helps my argument.

Burnley had some stinking decisions go against them in that relegation season.
It seemed at one point that the Premier league wanted them down

I think he will want another Chumps League win before he leaves us. I just hope he manages to balance his work and home commitments.

Apparently Bayern prioritised his extension because they were worried about the fact both Pep’s and Kompany’s contracts ended in 2027.

Personally, I think Vinnie would come home in a heartbeat given the chance. And we’d pay the compensation to make it happen.

Or we get to keep Pep until 2029.

Win-win!

Bayern are so untested it's laughable.

They really, really, haven't been tested once in their dire league. Look at all the stats, all of their inferior opponents are trying to out play them (stupid move), no one battling them with aerial duels, using physicality, set pieces. There's no one in their league who can even do what Brentford do, aerial bombardment and fight for second balls. No physically demanding teams like Newcastle, Palace, Villa, Bournemouth...

Liverpool started to lose as soon as teams started putting the ball in the air against them and stopped trying to out play them in a heads up match. Arsenal are top because they are the best version of that + they have top quality too. Man United are rising up the league playing hoof ball and winning the second ball, a lot of Premier League teams have their own identity now.

Infact, the only 'test' they've had from the Premier League is a Chelsea side whose manager has refused to adopt the long throw so far.
