I dont get it at all mate. Its fans harping for good old fashioned English style players when we have Pep Guardiola as manager now and the days of punt it long big men at the back are gone.
I want the best players possible for the role he wants the to undertake and i couldn't give a shit how big they are, just how good they are.
I agree with that point and if they have the right skill set and characteristics height shouldn't be an issue . It's not going to be an easy task in replacing Vinny but again it is not an impossible one.

Yes and that's because we have players that can keep the ball.We have had the most possession and conceded the second least corners, which are also contributing factors
Which is what Pep will place higher in terms of attributes than being 6' 5".

I agree, but only up to a point. I think there's a lot more diversity in terms of how teams play in English football than in other leagues and a lot more physical contact allowed by referees, and it makes sense to have a squad of players that are able to counter all of those various styles. Puyol wasn't particularly tall, but like Micah Richards he had a pretty decent leap on him, and I'd regard him as someone who could have done an effective job in any league. Otamendi though is a good example of a centre half, who sometimes struggles with the physical nature of some of our opponents and frequently gets caught out trying to nip round in front of bigger players, who end up then 'rolling' him.
What was noticeable yesterday as well was the ability of Huddersfield's players to resist pressure from behind and hold the ball up, whereas some of ours ceded possession way too easily. I'm never comfortable with small centre halves in particular, and I'd much prefer a bigger keeper than Bravo as well. Doesn't mean I want us to sign Robert Huth, but I'd be quite happy with someone like Aldeweirald, who has the height and power to deal with traditional big lummox English forwards, but is also capable of playing out from the back

He's a legend who can't get and stay fit. It's not exactly a recent problem, so much as so it's been going on for years. He may be considering retirement, not because what supporters are saying, but because his body can't hold up to the vigours of a full time athlete anymore.
It doesn't matter if he is a legend, if he's not able to play a significant part of our seasons anymore, he either becomes a representative or is moved on.
Sentiment is all well and good, but to be a consistent top club we need to be able to look at these scenarios more objectively.
