Thing is that I'd rather gamble on Otamendi and Kolarov playing well than gamble on Kompany not getting injured in the first half.

A fully fit 23 year-old Pele is the best player in the world. It matters little though. Pele is not 23 and Kompany is not .....

the eagerness to right him of is staggering but shamefully not surprising.

firstly we don't know any official news...he could have got a knock in training...a kick or stamp on the foot .... a common place injury that everyone gets and nothignto do with anything else he has had...pep said one or two were carrying light knocks in his presser but that it was nothing to be concerned about.

As long as its not relate to his calf muscle then its ok....thats the one that keeps going and people could point to him then being injury prone.....the last injury was put bad luck with his collision with bravo.

Of course we will miss him. We need a real leader on the pitch not just a Captain & VK is that leader. As well as being a fantastic player. Even half fit he is good.

Don't miss him? His injuries in last 3 seasons are reason we will likely end up with one league cup in 3 seasons. Not sure we would have won that if he hadn't got fit for final v Liverpool. Best centre half in league, born leader and winner who we are nowhere near close to replacing
