Vinnie injured?

Best captain we've ever had.

We should give him all the time and support he needs to get himself fit, and if he decides it's over then support him in whatever role he feels he could do at the club. Could be a hugely inspiring coach, youth team manager, club ambassador. He's a very intelligent guy so would be great in a public role if he wanted it.

Still hoping he'll get fit and back to form again. On his day he's the best central defender in Europe.
Nice post

I'm guessing you've not worded that the way you meant to.

Were you implying that his persistent injuries may now be having a detrimental impact on his state of mind, and this latest injury might be a symptom of that?
Of course that's what he meant. But the "I'm a better fan than you" crew would rather take it literally and infer grave insult.

The sentiment that Kompany's injuries might have a psychological effect on his ability or belief in staying fit is neither new nor novel. Its been echoed around these parts for years.

I guess some would just rather it was said nicer and rwith a bit more deference.

potato potato if you ask me.

He has needed to retire for everyone's sake for about 2 seasons now. He'll continue to stick out though because it's all he knows. For better or for worse, City should cut ties this summer. Can't continue to carry a player like this.

The reality is that he has a contract so has time to hope for a miracle, in other professions he would be getting his p45 being unfit for work and unable to carry out the duties he gets handsomely paid for. I don't agree with the over sentimental on here but understand it. If he manages to comeback I will be over the moon as we have a valuable asset again. His desire to return isn't to make blokes from beswick happy though.

Then he can show his face on the thread and say just that.

He doesn't need you on your shining charger coming to his rescue having a pop!

This sounds harsh, but in the end, it's probably true. I mean it's not like footballers are hard done by. Yes, he's been a tremendous leader for us and yes a fantastic player. But we've paid him very very very well. £50,000 or £100,000 a week is the sort of money mortals could only dream of. And the reality is we've been paying him for the past two years for a service which - for whatever reason and through no fault of his own - he is simply not delivering. At the end of the day, we are not a charity and we need players who can deliver, not ones who are almost permanently in the physio room. Sorry to say all this, but that's how I feel about it. Any other walk of life, you'd be gone by now.

Best captain I have seen in 50 years .
He has ruined his body in helping make City the club it is today. He has become a Mancunian. Shame on anyone who makes a critical comment about him.

He is on 170k a week. He has just started doing some development in Manchester.
