It's sad he's had the last of his footballing years blighted with these injuries. Who knows what we could have gone on to achieve had we had our best defender and captain fit.

Best captain we've ever had.

We should give him all the time and support he needs to get himself fit, and if he decides it's over then support him in whatever role he feels he could do at the club. Could be a hugely inspiring coach, youth team manager, club ambassador. He's a very intelligent guy so would be great in a public role if he wanted it.

Still hoping he'll get fit and back to form again. On his day he's the best central defender in Europe.

I agree with all that with the exception of the CL. Unless he is able to prove his fitness this Spring we can no longer waste a CL spot on him.

I think in this period which is coming to an end six players will long be remembered by the fans hart(rather luckily for him),zabba,kompany,toure,silva and Sergio. As someone who doesn't do player idolisation I do have a soft spot for zabba in particular and not far behind Sergio and silva.

I expect that Silva will be here for the next 2-3 seasons. The rest unfortunately will go this summer I think.
