The strange thing about this situation was feeling so shocked when the initial announcement was released this morning even though we all had this feeling in our stomach that it was inevitable. When the second statement was released I felt enormous respect for his decision and excited for him for his new chapter, he has gone out in almost the perfect fashion ( he deserved to lift the champions league) and Vinny will forever be remembered a great.

hopefully the next era will be one of European glory for our great club.

Still couldn’t find that debut game but thought this was good too. Oh the hope back then, that faltered and resurrected and flourished over the years.
 
even when he wasn’t playing he was still a leader of men and the void he will be leaving will be near impossible to fill.

This club has always been more about the people in it and around it more than it's results. I can only assume he that's why this news has affected me emotionally more than any result. Such a bittersweet, complex moment.

Everything we feel as fans is personified by Vincent. The hero we had longed for. An amazing player and captain but more importantly a beautiful human being. Inspirational. I wish him all the best and hope to see him as a manager of our club one day.
 
Damn you father time! Not even King Kompany can evade it's meandering advance. This day had to come but it certainly doesn't make it any easier knowing this was coming.

I wish him as much success as he had at his own club, Manchester City as he does at Anderlecht. I hope he returns to us one day as the manager Pep and all of us know he can be if he desires. Good luck Vinny but please come back!
 
I guess there will be some tears on Monday when Vinny's song rings around Manchester city centre.
 
I love VK to bits but I don't think his playing style has always been pure Pep style.

He has adapted his game and been superb in his last matches this season, but to be properly press resistant, as Pep likes it, requires very special skills and composure.

With less confident/skilled players it can be a risky game style.

Joe Hart was recently named by VK in his all time Manchester City team. You would think he would be available from Burnley? It will be interesting to see if VK tries to get him to Anderlecht?

Good luck to both VK and Joe, we have been through so much together and you will always be in our hearts. I am sure you will get a proper send off on Monday.

Cannot see that happening tbh. I can however see City loaning a few younger players to Anderlecht in the same way that Chelsea have to Derby who are obviously managed by one of their iconic ex-players.
