Vinny joins Anderlecht as player/manager (Simon Davies follows him)

Left on the highest of highs, did not make it about him (Pep obviously knew and they decided to say they would chat at the end of the season), he didn’t want to lie to the fans. Played his final games as first choice and no sentiment was needed.

He left after winning FA Cup final with a clean sheet, the domestic treble.

Also he won goal of the season (this last one is still something I struggle to believe!!)

Injuries robbed us of him at times, but what he gave to the club is beyond compare.

They say we don’t legends, well we lost one today!
 
So glad he played the final games of the season and had a major contribution in the treble (quad). Proper send off tomorrow night. God bless you and your family Vinny and we will hopefully see you again some day

Can we get some young lads out there on loan next season?
 
I for one had him written off a couple a seasons ago after he had something like his 14th injury at the club. unbelievable that he not only came back, but came back like he’d never been away. He is a true city legend and Like zabba it hurts that he’s going. I’m sure he’ll be back at the club on a few years. Best of luck Vinnie.
 
I don't have much to add that hasn’t already been said.

Its been a privilege to watch him play, I am glad he had gone out on top and for people of my generation he will go down in the annals just like Bell, Lee and Summerbee did for our parents.
 
Not many words that I’m sure have already been said, just thank you Vinny, legend, warrior, leader, superstar, comeback king, scorer of epic important goals. Respected by the footballing world, Husband of a Mancunian wife, father of Mancunian children, you are a true blue Gladiator, I love you Vinny, comeback soon. Also the best forehead in Christendom.
