A mate of mine has just opened a new vinyl shop in Afflecks:

<a class="postlink" href="https://www.facebook.com/VinylRestingPlaceManchester" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">https://www.facebook.com/VinylRestingPlaceManchester</a>

The lad knows his stuff and he's lovely, so have a look next time you're in.

i got a stiff little fingers one from there the other week...he is good.

Just been thinking of buying a decent turntable and speakers and buying all my favourite albums on vinyl.

Do they still do a lot of albums on vinyl? (Are they called LPs?)

Anyone recommend a decent player and speakers?

Superb mate.

The lad's a true devotee and has been collecting obsessively for yonks. Well worth supporting a local specialist.

I could literally cry - When I moved house about 8 years ago I put my vinyl collection in the skip. I had American imports on 12", picture discs mostly from my punk days, singles, albums.

what an idiot!

idiot!

I kept the vinyl (as above) - though threw out the huge box of tapes I had of all my mates' collections made back in the day - also about 25 home made "peel" c90's that I created hovering over the pause button all night...
