We were looking at activating his release clause until they got the transfer ban. Might have gotten some kind of sweetener with regards fee for backing off.

Well what I'm still waiting for is qualification of your statement. To stop this drawing on, I'll assume by your reluctance to back up your claim, that it is purely your opinion & not based on any form of fact.

If 70 million is the price for VVD are we realistically going to sign him up not to be a regular starter. If so VVD may seem the red dippers as a better option as their defence is shocking and the pressure on him will be less than that walking into a team that it setting such a high standard and conceded fewest goals. A couple of VVD fuck up's and Nico and Vinny are ready to step in, as we know Pep isn't afraid to drop any player. I know that people think coming to us is a dream, but you have to apply the impartial thinking and rationale, with a move to us is a far bigger risk and challenge than to the dippers.

Shame but was pretty clear he always wanted to go there so I'm sure we'll have good alternatives.
 
£75m is ridiculous if true. Would rather we steer clear at that price. Still think our biggest issue is at CM as we have no like for like replacement for Fernandinho.

I doubt it.

I think as a 4th choice he would have been an ok option but Vinny’s continuing injuries have forced the clubs hand now to go out and buy a long term replacement who can challenge for a first team spot.
