Not sold on Van Dijk at all. Not as good as Alderweireld/Kompany/Vertonghan etc would have prefered to have kept Nastasic tbh. We do need a CB but can't see how Van Dijk meets any of the criteria

I know people are sick of me saying this but Otamendi and Mangala and Kompany are better than Stones. So Why not sign VVD and let Stones go (with a buy back - just as we are doing with Iheanacho).

I think the positive with VVD is that he is a leader and would be able to handle being the senior partner. I look at our current options and think "he will be fine as long as he has Vinny next to him" but we all know that expecting Vinny to be fit for the season is probably wishing for too much. I would like someone in there that makes a great partner for Vinny but who can also be a leader when he is unavailable.

I totally agree on Stones. He has been making these mistakes ever since he came on the scene, and they are showing no signs of diminishing or even becoming less frequent. He is built like a string of pish, which quite frankly is a disgrace for a centre back at this level. Couldn't believe when were in for him, thought it was a bad joke a la Wilshere. Turned out it wasn't a joke and we actually were that foolish. I would love to know who scouts these players and gives the go ahead for inept players such as Stones, Managala etc. Would the manager have given the go ahead for these?
