If we kept Delph as the HG could we bring in Sanchez and (VVD) or another non HG player? Meaning Evans would stay at WBA
Evans is done buddy, give up the ghost on that one.If we kept Delph as the HG could we bring in Sanchez and (VVD) or another non HG player? Meaning Evans would stay at WBA
He spelled it out last season. He knows.
He has decided to gamble on Vinny imo, that's what has changed.
But it seems clear to me, Vinny is playing on his limit & is becoming a veteran. He has lost a yard of pace & any drop in form, not just injuries, will be significant. He can't be at 70%.
We wil need the other 3 to go up a level & attackers to score & when we dominate possession imo. Stones looks like he might do that but seen no improvement from Otamendi so far. Turned inside out by a Championship striker at Bournemouth.
Need him to stop that kind of bollocks & maybe JFE to organise.
Not the best position for a Champions League hopeful.
If I was outside looking in, I'd see it as the probable reason City won't win the title & signing VVD as making it very likely City win it.
Not that it can't be overcome, but if City don't win it, that will most likely be why.
If City signed both Sanchez & VVD, I would fully expect a decent shot at the Champions League.
It is a huge concern. Otamendi has to dive in because he has zero pace. Kompany has always been keen to charge out and intercept the ball, only as you say he has lost that bit of pace and is also getting caught out. The way King destroyed them is ridiculous. He is a decent player but our defence should have had him wrapped up. Otamendi is awful on the ball as well, unless it is a sideways pass. He played Ferny into trouble a couple of times. Stones has to play ahead of Otamendi but doesnt seem trusted in a back two. He is miles better on the ball and his decision making in terms of choosing whether to dive in or drop off is also a lot better.
With pace at full back position I do not know why the cbs are doing anything other than drop off and force the player wide as others recover. We have a keeper that will take some beating from long range. Kompany and Otamendi are like kids on a playground at times, diving in and swinging their legs about.
More embarrassing was the ease at which a bald slow wanker like Rooney got into space in the box to score.
Our defensive problems can be improved by current personnel but it seems crazy not to be in for van dijk.
I fear we simply cant afford him and Sanchez is priority. We have spent cash on players for girona too which hasnt helped us in the short term.
Liverpool got caught tapping up - the FA failed to act- so Soton understandably are saying "you unsettled our player by acting unprofessionally so to you the price is x" and x probably starts with a 7 or even an 8. Tough shit scousers. Soton might do a deal with someone else for less but the Dippers have seriously pissed them off.Southampton are refusing to negotiate with Liverpool over a fee, so it's either a ridiculous fee or fuck off
The best we can hope for is he stays at Southampton. Maybe we can get him next Summer.
One of the new fullbacks who 'cover' this was robbed at the halfway line in a worse mistake than Sané's v Everton (as I predicted) but we got away with it.
We will just have to score a lot.
I'm going to back JFE now anyhow & hope he's one of those Brian Clough type signings who ends up poty.
