But I thought it was us who were buying the league? We’ve never spent 75 million on a player but we always get the most shit thrown our way.

Not a fan of Liverpool getting that, he really is a top prospect & ticks every box. In his prime, PL experience, one of the biggest threats from set-pieces in the PL, top ball-playing ability, top three in the PL for winning aerial duels & is extremely athletic for his build.

Objectively speaking, Liverpool have the second best attack in the PL & arguably one of the top 8 in Europe. Not sure how if it’ll be at the same level if Countinho ends up leaving in the summer. But Keita’s coming & he’s one of the best ball-carriers out there. They’re probably a GK, DM & a FB or two away from being top title contenders next season imo.

They could have got Lukaku for that. Jose's going to be pissed that someone's paying that for a defender.

And the joke is that, in 12 months time he's going to be just as shit as Lovren, Klavan & Matic.

That's a bit harsh mate, unless you meant Matip?

VVD will not single-handedly turn them into a solid defensive unit. They need at least another CB to pair with him, a new left-back and a new goalkeeper. At £75m they will have spent half of the Coutinho fee. If they top-up the remaining £75m with £50m or so then they might be able to build a strong first 11. They'll still be lacking in squad depth, but they should be in a position to challenge for the title next year. Good business for them, even though the fee is very high.

Fair do’s to Liverpool they got one hell of a defender looks like they going for the premier league next season is it going to be there year.

I agree and Klopps record against Pep is very good having always had inferior teams as well. I suppose we can’t buy everyone! In Pep we trust.

Utter bollocks, he's just about the most overrated player out there.

I think he's an idiot if he chooses liverpool over city. The problem for liverpool isn't their centre backs, it's the way they play.

The general conversation is that city and liverpool attack in a similar fashion because they score the most goals: it's not true. City are much more controlled whereas Liverpool are caution to the wind and deliberately open games wide. No wonder their defence looks shite, it's always exposed.

Says a lot about VVD if he chooses Liverpool over us. He's just turned down a PL winners medal plus whatever else we're going to win over the next few years. He must be a fool. He's just chosen to drink Rola Cola when he could have had a Coke. Baffling.

Klopp’s weakness is definitely game management still though, he had the same issues with Dortmund. Signing top defenders, a GK, & a DM will help for sure. But the way he goes about closing games, controlling tempo & holding a lead isn’t the best in my view.

We’ll also sign players though, so no biggie ;)

Great player but I can’t help but think it’s the system that’s the problem at Liverpool rather than the individuals.
