I’m not sure who’s out there for that role. I’m not particularly keen on Luiz, but if it’s on loan then maybe that’s the option we go for. See how he does, if it doesn’t work then we save our money for the summer. Zubimendi would be the one. Add to that these kids were signing and Marmoush, we’d be ready for a second half of the season run. Bobb being back in the next few weeks will be big for us too. Just a shame if Zubimendi wouldn’t fancy it.

Maybe they said to zubimendi to watch how serious they are with other signings
This might them make him buy into it

Some context of City’s offer.

Brighton last week offered £24.5m (converted offer to pounds), Palmeiras thought it would be great if they could get £30m, which would be a record for a defender directly from the Brazilians. Current record £17m. City have just offered £33.5m pounds.
If Brighton are sniffing round the kid he’ll be a top player.

Never heard of him but of he's competing in that team as well as the national side, against the likes of Murillo who I do rate quite highly, then he's definitely the calibre of player we should be looking at.

I'd check the obligatory YouTube compilation but have a banging headache as it is, without the god awful music that always accompanies them.

Wonder what callum doyle thinks of us signing this lad and the other one from Uzbekistan?
If Doyle doesn't believe he's good enough to get in front of an 18 year old who never played in this country before and can't speak English after years in the City system learning to play exactly how we play and numerous years on loan to hone his craft in English football, then he needs to leave either way because he lacks the mentality to succeed here

The exact signing we should be making. Very similar prospect to United's Leny Yoro, except we'll be paying half the price. Great work Viana/Cheeky.

What a player this lad can become. Has everything. Has the sleek frame and long legs that many of the modern top defenders have (Saliba, Yoro, Virgil). Virgil has a slightly larger frame now but comparable when he was signed.

Ball carrying, duels, composure. Certainly looks the part. Great, great work. The type of signings that give us the edge.

Shouldn’t the judgement be reserved until he actually gets to prove himself here, can’t be telling players they have weak mentality if never given chance

Yeah but I was referring to the idea that he'd be pissed off today.
Any player who is pissed off that someone has taken their spot should be thrown out of the club, especially if they're a youth player.
We're the reigning Premier League and World Champions. There's no such thing as "taking my spot". You earn it every day. If Doyle is sat on loan and felt entitled to first team football when he came back then that's a bad mentality. That was what I was trying to say.
He'll be watched out on loan and again when he comes back in and given his chance to earn his way in the squad.
