Vladimir Weiss - Signs For Ranjirs Season Loan

I'm going to disagree with the majority here. I think that it is a big step down for him. The vast majority of teams in the division wouldn't stay up in the championship, so the only games he will get of any decent standard are the games against Celtic and the champs league games (only 6 because they will go out in the group stage as they ususally do)

Can't see how this is a better move than going to Nexcastle/wolves or the like

At least we can't be blamed for ruining Scottish football, it's been shite for years.

Good luck Vlad, come back twice as good with a medal in your bin.

Good to see he's went to a good club and will play Champions League football and come back with some SPL medals

When are Aberdeen going to get another loan signing.

Were not greedy, give us Cunningham and Vidal and we can give you an option on Pollit and Fyvie

An astute move by our management and good for the player's development.

Interesting to see that Vlad is regarded as too good / too much of a risk to be allowed to go on loan to one of our rivals, but Ireland is sold to a rival - seems to show how our management views Vlad relative to Stevie.

As for Owen (Dog) Coil / Coyle "showing an interest" after letting Vlad warm the bench last season at Notlob, what a piss-take!

Lennon looks like he doesnt have any pulling power with his transfer targets.

Good move for Vlad, should get some Champions League experience too...and off the back of a decent World Cup, not too bad for a 20 years old who hasnt yet made a league start for us!

-- Thu Aug 19, 2010 10:43 am --

Think that was more to do with Mancini's eagerness to bring in Milner

An interesting test for him. The standard is pretty poor, but he'll still be up against well organised defences that will be tough to break down at times. It should hopefully help him improve his decision making, learn when to pass, play a simple ball, shoot etc.

The biggest test though is the fact that he'll be playing in a team that is expected to win every single match, it's as much a test of his mental ability as his technical ability.

To be honest, i doubt any of our rivals were particularly interested anyway.

Disappointed to see him move to one of the Old Firm. Awful clubs.

Still, more game time will benefit his development. He'd have been better off going to the Championship which I consider a stronger league than the SPL.
