Voter ID is an old school suppression tactic, aimed at dissuading opposition voters from showing up at the polls.

In the USA - this is a tactic of conservatives - hoping to suppress latino votes.

I'm surprised that this same trick of the trade is being employed in the UK.

Democracy already happens. There is zero incentive to attempt to cast a fraudulent vote.

If a voter ID cost £5 to create, send out etc. There are are roughly 40 million eligible voters. That then is £200 million

£200 million because a handful of people who voted fraudulently.

And what is too stop people getting multiple IDs.

We already have a system where people receive a polling card based on eligibility that works,
