Johnson is facing more inquiries into his misdemeanours than there were incidents of voter fraud at the last election.


I wonder why this Government, a Government that is possibly the most authoritarian Government in my lifetime introducing this legislation?


Is it to stop the 1 person convicted of voting fraud, yes 1 person.

Or

Is it to make sure that millions will not vote, so ensuring a majority for the Conservative's in eternity.

This legislation is the equivalent of banning people from Mars from owning ice cream parlours in Audenshaw.

Voter ID is an old school suppression tactic, aimed at dissuading opposition voters from showing up at the polls.

In the USA - this is a tactic of conservatives - hoping to suppress latino votes.

I'm surprised that this same trick of the trade is being employed in the UK.

Have I missed something, are the Tories no longer the people's party, for the common man, the poor man, the forgotten man, the working man, the workington man, and every other man or woman? Are labour not now the party of the elite, the out of touch political class, the liberal loonys and those that would presumably have cars and holidays and as such IDs? They are if you are part of a selective social class. The Rees-Moggian right wing libertarianism is a fantasy that relies on stepping on the rights of normal people so the utility monsters can have much more freedoms for themselves.

Travel freely between countries and have many homes whilst restricting the chances of lesser mortals to own one residence and have more modest freedom of movement.

Family of 4 going on holiday and it’s £1200 for a government mandated test that’s all but useless. Clearly, if you’re loaded, it’s not too much of an imposition especially as the budget airlines won’t be full of the hoi polloi......
