Vulcan Bomber flypast this aft.

The last Vulcan was retired yesterday.
If you want an example of how this country has gone down the pan can you think of the only British made 4 engined aircraft still flying?

It's the Lancaster!!!
There's a Shackleton still airworthy in South Africa and I believe another is being restored at Coventry Airport, which they hope to get flying again.

Although the South African one is theoretically airworthy, it hasn't flown since 2008.
You didn't say it had to be 100% British. I would think that most of the post war British aircraft had some non British equipment installed :-(
Fully agree. Saying that the 146 isn't properly British is like saying many Boeings aren't properly American because they have Rolls Royce engines fitted.

The saddest part about Great Britain now. It feels as if we are regressing as a forward thinking industry leader in anything that has a hint of coolness about it.

We will not see the next S.s Great Britain type idea pushed forward in this country and it is shit.

We still have the breakthroughs, graphene is an example, but then leave the commercial development to other countries.

On a nerdy note, Im really looking forward to seeing what people can do with Graphine, certainly in the superconductor side of things, we really need a decent high capacity battery system.

saying it is not British is a big slap in the face for the thousands of British people involved in making that project a success.
