W**kers in pubs with kids.

You can tell when a pub is on its last legs.
If you go in early doors and the only customers are a few kids, late teens , early 20’s with prams and some little cherubs running around out of control it’s usually an indication it will be closed within a few weeks.

In the 70's we had to behave in pubs. I used to have to spend the whole time sat on great uncle Quentin's knee.
He always told me to keep quiet.
Even in the late 90s and early 00s I remember our local’s regulars telling us young’uns (18-22 year olds) off when we got a bit rowdy and told to fucking calm it down or they’d sling us out.

Anyone with kids making a racket were told the same thing.

…and then social media with added review sites, came along and establishments kowtowed to the potential negative reviewers because they knew it was more hassle to stand up for the rest of their punters that instant, than to deal with the longterm consequences of a bad incomplete facts review hanging around forever on the internet.

Days like these in your own back garden, with the wife and children and a couple of beers of your own choice , scrote free . And a whole let less cheaper and relaxed. No brainer.
100% agree. Assuming you have a garden of course. A couple of beers of your choice, dinner cooking in the back ground, no drink driving or other people’s kids to worry about. Wins hands down every time.

Drink in Hare & Hounds, you'll be safe from children there.

Personally love seeing children in pubs, start them young but Old Tom only in nips.
Anyone under 50 is considered a nipper in the H&H
The old karaoke crooners in the back still think that Elvis Presley kid is a menace, with his dangerous new fangled rock and roll racket
