Walcott admits diving to try and win a pen

If the pen had been awarded would he have held his hands up then and told the ref not to give it? And would he then have admitted it in his interview?

Does this mean it is not a penalty?

For me this this is the key question.

If he's gone down easily( i.e. dived) does this negate the fact thats its a penalty.

Although, it was a bit soft the contact was certainly enough to deem it a penalty

he stood on the guys foot and then chucked himself to the floor ?

Yep, that's the way I saw it too .. anyway it's fun listening to him trying to justify what he did even though he said it was wrong. Tied himself up in knots the poor lad, but OK, not many admit it .. and there is probably a reason for that.
