Top Korean film about the Korean civil war, quite an eye opener.

On for a bit too long, but another epic.

My favourite war film, Defiance is the English version that wasn't so good.

I watched The Thin Red Line the other night for the first time. I'm usually a Terrence Malick fan, and to be fair to him some of the shots were beautiful (as always), but he tried to tell too many different stories in one film, ultimately ending in telling no complete narrative. The battle scene was quite excellent, but that's all the film really was. For too long, he focused on the juxtaposition of the serenity of nature and the iniquity of man, and tried to attach some philosophical insight to the whole event. Some great scenes but it felt incomplete.

Anyway, my favourite would have to be Saving Private Ryan.

What are your favourite war films?

Thats quite a good review of The Thin Red Line, and exactly what i loved about it, i watched it about a month ago for the first time in a few years, i just love it, a beautifully well made film with brilliant cameos through out.

Just noticed above, the Brotherhood of War, a cracking film about the Korean Civil War, definitely recommend this one.
