I watched the Iranains leaders UN speech on CNN (BBC and Sky cut it. Probably so they could twist in later news reports) and i agreed with majority of what he was saying.

- The "death" of marxism has left capitalism with no one to keep it in check

- The UN needs to be overhauled as two or three countries have a greater than the whole continent of Africa.

- Condeming Countries invading others for their own personal gain. (I wonder who that was aimed at?)

Whatever you think of him he's telling some home truths that some countries don't like. Hence the destablisation attempts.

Hmmmmmmmmm I guess the your with him on the denial of the Holocaust?

That one has overwhelming evidence it happened.

Its been engineered for years, but the wacko conspiracist lunatics are just that eh?? when us wackos talk of people like the Bilderbergers and other secret societies we don't do it for a laugh, but never mind as WW3 is on the horizon, has been for yonks. I'm off to put me head back in this sand outside, if theres room. Over and out.

War??

Don't be stupid. It's highly improbable to happen under the Obama administration unless circumstances absolutely dictate it. As someone said earlier, it's about destabilisation from within. It's about forcing the Iranian govnt to show their hand, it's about proving to the Iranian people they are being 'misled'. It's not another 'Iraq' situation as this is a different tact.

It may not look it now, but it is.

Can someone explain to me why it's ok for some states to have nuclear arms but not for others? Is it akin to the the Sky4 keeping the equilibrium?

Typical. Just as we have a team to challenge for honours.

get your buckets and spades out lads and start digging your air raid shelters! ;-)

I think ahjminejad is being so against the west to take to focus off his domestic political situation. He is under huge scrutiny in Iran over his election. By putting the fear in his people by exagerrating the threat for the west takes the focus away from his own wrong doings at home.

The thing that scares me most about Iran is not the missile tests or nuclear aspect themselves it is that they codename their War games "The Great Prophet I" "The Great Prophet II" etc.
The mixture of delusional religious ignorance and hi tech weaponry of apocalyptic proportions is a very dangerous thing. I can't think of anything that threatens life on this planet more. Mutually Assured Destruction is not a deterrence to those who believe with all their heart that they will be rewarded for slaying unbelievers or that they can bring on the returning of the messiah etc.
