Was this a surprise?

Funny how we are always shit on BT sports and Sky sports this season .
Star performance from Taylor today .
Howard Webb and Mike Riley will be happy with you tonight .

One person we cannot blame for that result today was the ref. We could of had Mike Summerbee reffing today and it wouldn't have made a blind bit of difference to the result.

Well we'd have had a penalty which potentially could have got us back in the game at an important time.
He wasn't to blame but he played his part the cheating ****.

See where your coming from but it wasn't exactly "nailed" on. One of those incidents where I'd have been livid if it had gone against us. Plus Howard Webb said it was the right decision ;)

For me, it was a big surprise.

Defensively we looked to be improving (only conceded 3 in the previous 7 games), we'd shown great spirit in coming from behind to reach the League Cup Final, and in our last three league away games, we'd gained 7 points from 9, coming from behind in two of the games and grinding out a 1-0 in the other.

I honestly thought we were slowly building up into a great run of form, and that the news of Guardiola coming was only going to increase that.

Today I feel like we've gone two steps back after taking one forward. Our defence looked like it did pre-Christmas when it was easily being taken apart by teams like Liverpool and Stoke.

The Fernandinho one was 50/50 - the Zabba one was nailed on.
Howard Webb can suck my fat one the **** :-)

The performance surprised me. It was fucking dreadful. Sloppy from the off. Toure bottles a tackle, Hart punches when he could have caught, their player waltzes past two of ours like they were statues, we concede from the simplest free kick ever. 3 mins. Unbelievable. From that point it's hard work.

Go in for half time, we couldn't have been any worse. Make a sub? Nah let's just go out and start the second half as sloppily as we started the first. Their player waltzes past ours again like they are statues...goal. 3 mins.

That is incredibly shit.

And to think someone actually created a quadruple thread only a week or so ago! What a joke.

This really does sum up today. I think it was albrighton who ran the full length of the pitch with the ball without a city player even considering to challenge him, just after half time I think this was. Our organisation is appalling, we need kompany back to sort this mess out.

After the Sunderland game anyone that moaned about the performance was given the same old line of it being about the 3 points. Anyone that moaned were told that compared to the days of old there is nothing to moan about. Anyone that moaned was reminded that we are still on for 4 trophies. Well that performance at Sunderland was a good clue to what was going to happen against a good side. We should expect more of the team today than years gone by. We are still on for the 4 trophies but play like today, Liverpool will stuff us again, will we honestly beat Barcelona or Bayern, Chelsea will fancy their chances against us and to win the title there will have to be a big change in attitude. No ,today was not a shock.
