Was this a surprise?

Nope it wasn't. I said it at the start of the season that Fabian fucking Delp won't be enough and we need a genuine world-class central midfielder. Except of few, most of the fans who are now saying that Yaya should only be used as a sub were overrating him and our midfield at the start of the season, they were over the moon when we signed Sterling and thought we would walk this league. You reap what you sow. And as I have mentioned it quite a few times that this is the most overrated team I have ever seen in my life.

It was a surprise that we were so dis interested from the 3rd min, hands on hips couldn't give a toss attitude from 10 players, bar the 2nd half v Newcastle I can't remember being entertained like we were a few seasons back, we only just scraped through at Sunderland and just glossed over a very average performance.

I think to say it was a surprise would be naive but you still don't necessarily expect it.

No this wasn't a surprise.

We've played well about a dozen times, really well about half a dozen times in the last two seasons and the rest of the time he (that manager of ours) has shown himself up to be out of his depth without Mancini's drilled defending being still part of the side's makeup.

Today was just appalling from a preparation point of view. Pellegrini should offer us all free entry for next week v Spurs. He can pay!

Bobbins!

No it wasn't a surprise. Manuel is a charming man but not a great coach IMO. And before someone quotes his win percentages to me, I don't care. He has had a fine squad and significant investment at his disposal. On top of that, I think the squad is complacent and things are just too cosy in terms of there are little consequence for poor performance. We have a shed load of injuries but that is no excuse. It seems that any team that is willing to work hard, has a solid defence and can attack at pace will beat us. I have said for some time that I would be delighted to win anything this year. If we can't radically improve our individual levels of performance and team tactics we will have our worse season since the takeover - outside the top 4 and win nothing. Pep has a big job on his hands to get this squad playing the way he will dictate.

And while I am in rant mode. Where is our Captain Vinnie. I get that he is injured but does that mean he can't have a massive input into coaching our defence. I can't believe that he can watch Otomendi do what Otomendi does without seriously strangling the sod after every game.

The whole is less than the sum of the parts, a real shame with the individual talent we have, so unfortunately not a surprise

The performance surprised me. It was fucking dreadful. Sloppy from the off. Toure bottles a tackle, Hart punches when he could have caught, their player waltzes past two of ours like they were statues, we concede from the simplest free kick ever. 3 mins. Unbelievable. From that point it's hard work.

Go in for half time, we couldn't have been any worse. Make a sub? Nah let's just go out and start the second half as sloppily as we started the first. Their player waltzes past ours again like they are statues...goal. 3 mins.

That is incredibly shit.

And to think someone actually created a quadruple thread only a week or so ago! What a joke.

Funny how we are always shit on BT sports and Sky sports this season .
Star performance from Taylor today .
Howard Webb and Mike Riley will be happy with you tonight .
