Was yesterday our worst defeat of the post takeover era?

I've just decided it is the worst defeat since the takeover. I am still fuming 48hrs later.

We've got injuries galore, so barring 1 or 2,the side is virtually picking itself.
The 2 decisions Pellegrini had were Demichelis or Sagna and Kolarov or Clichy and he got both wrong. But what makes it worse is, it was obvious, totally 100% obvious!!!
It's not rocket science how Leicester play, that's not taking anything away from them, they were excellent, but f**k me we didn't half help them out.

When Ranieri saw our starting 11 he must have pi**ed himself with laughter.
We play a 35 year old against probably the best break away team in the league, who by the way happen to have a striker on fire, who just sits on the last man, for fun. And the full back next to him is a glorified wing back who can win a header occasionally but hasn't blocked a cross in 6 years for us!!

I was fuming when Hughes did the same v Spurs a few years back, when he played a 36yr old Sylvinho behind Robinho against an in form speed freak,Aaron Lennon and again we got totally humiliated!

Difference is we we're only striving to be a top team then, now we are a supposed top team.

They time's a healer, but if anything I think I'm getting angrier.
Agree fully with this 48 hours on and still mad as hell. How some people on here can compare this disaster with games under Agent Hughes is absurd or indeed the Cup Final debacle. This is far far worse and for one very simple reason. This is part of a trend which has been developing under Pellers for over a year now and which is seemingly going in only one direction. Yes we have had injuries and obviously this has had a influence but you cannot explain the growing list of capitulations on this factor alone. Saturday's match was imo lost in the very first minute with YAYA's non challenge in midfield followed by some schoolboy defending. We could not have complained if we were 3 or 4 down by half-time.
What can we do to rescue the season. Firstly, pray that VK returns and stays fit. Secondly, relegate Toure to the bench.Thirdly, Hope that all the teams around us to continue to drop points and we can finish at least third. Fourthly, hope we do not suffer a humiliating defeat in Europe. Fifthly, hope that the Scousers get a man sent off at Wembly in the first 10 mins. Finally, hope that like last season we can string a few results together in the run in.

Last time I felt this deflated was probably the FA Cup final against Wigan, traveled all that way for a no show performance. I'm so pissed off with the players right now, they are Letting us down badly.

At least you had the pleasure of meeting me on that fateful day, you can't even say that about Saturday :-)

I think this is our worst season since the year we came 5th under mancini/hughes in terms of quality. So many bad days, very few good ones. How many times have we played to our potential this season with no disclaimers. I think its literally just sevilla away

let's see what we do to spuds - they are due a slip and I would love to help - upstarts needing pegging back a rung or two- particularly alli and shit harcrut argie - both thugs needing a twatting
come on city Sunday is the day to show what you are really made of!!

Agree with most of that but at the end of last season we bucked that trend, and we also did so at the start of this season when we had few injuries.

For me, it's not just the manner of the defeat, it's the signifigance of the game. Level with the likely title rivals, or 6 points behind. Top of the table, or 4th. Likely title winners, or battling for 3rd or 4th spot.

That was a simply enormous game and the fact some players didn't look like they were that arsed, is really really hard to take.

I honestly struggle to see where the next win is coming from.
This whole season has been appalling from a playing perspective.

Yes and I think that is why Pelligrini still has a lot of backers. He has a history of somehow pulling us back from the abyss and conjuring up a winning streak when the chips are down. That said I think this is probably his biggest challenge so far and there must be a real fear that things could spiral out of control in the coming weeks. I hope that is not the case and it would be great to get a win/draw next Sunday just to steady the ship.

The Arsenal defeat in 11/12. Spent the journey home planning on flying out of the country when United clinched the title.

i felt/feel more down after saturday than when liverpool beat us 3-2 the year of the slip, i was dreading feb with the games we had and injuries and it got off to the worst possible start.
if you offered me 2 points from our next 2 PL games Spurs Liverpool i would bite your hand off,
