We're starting to look ref-proof, mate. This will be the ultimate test.Last season it was 10 matches unbeaten when AFT was rolled out to do a job on us, which he managed with great aplomb. Don't expect any protection for any of our creative players, if we get a draw I'd be delighted.
In any other country we'd be lauded for playing the way we do. But not here. It's brave (or risky) but fucking hell it's exhilarating at times. And we'll get better and better.I don't understand why so many commentators/analysts seem to constantly question our so-called 'shaky' defense. By the expected goals numbers this year we have the best defence in the league and our attack is second to the rags. Hope we play a similar lineup and grab another clean sheet.
Most on here were saying this before our last league game IIRC. If we are fearing Watford (at any time of the season), we may as well just accept we are not title contenders. As usual, I suspect they will be more frightened of us than we are them.
I think that's an arrogant position that no City fan should be taking this early. They already got a result against Liverpool and haven't conceded a goal in the 3 games since.
We've been good going for the last week, but it was only 2 games ago we struggled against Bournemouth.
It will be a much harder game than last night.
You seriously suggest City should 'fear' Watford?
City shouldn't say they are title contenders?
City should be more frightened than Watford?
Come on @domalino, that can't be you..
City players should confidently take the leading role - while always respecting opponents abilities.
Your last sentence may be absolutely correct though - or not.
:)
Will be a difficult game, they look rejuvenated under Marco Silva and have the benefit of a full weeks rest. We're in great shape though and don't think Guardiola will make too many changes.
