Watford post match thread

Thought sterling did alright, having sterling on one side Navas on the other wing is the way I'd play every game give KDB a rest just think KDB and silva in the side unbalance us.

Against Everton

Hi all. Clearly a Watford fan here. Well done yesterday. Thought that we nearly had you but class told in the end against a side that were out on their feet. It might seem a bit old fashioned but just wanted to congratulate you on the way you play the game. Having suffered the game against much vaunted Spurs when they spent the whole game trying to get players booked, feigning injury, it was good to see a quality team play properly. It seems as though a lot of you feel you played badly but to be honest every team we have played this season has claimed that they had an off day against us. We must be doing something right. Best of luck for the rest of the season.

Thanks - I was very impressed by the way Watford carried out their game. I was thinking, whilst you were 1-0 up, how impressive it was that the team didn't resort to the pulis way of winning by feigning injury and time wasting at any opportunity. Your team has bags of pace and quality and wouldn't look out of place were it to finish in the top 6. Hope this doesn't come across as patronising, just enjoyed the way your boys went about their business and didn't really notice a particularly weak link

It wasn't kamikaze tactics mate, it was a case of matching up an inferior side position for position. In fact, Pellegrini made it fucking easy for our players. There was no tactical genius required. At least there should've have been. Win your battles and you'll win the match. When Jurado is making Silva look like a clown tells me everything I need to know about people being arsed about winning their battles.
I strongly disagree with that.

The one thing City's players did at Watford was keep going. Not many teams come back from a goal down away from home, especially an og from a corner that should never have been given.

The point Vincent made was spot on

I would agree but Dinho in place of Humphries and Fernando in Midfield......know its early but kids in v Norwich for me

Disagree it's a gamble I feel Pellegrini could make seeing we have the home game to put it right IF We do lose by the odd goal.

You have to ask yourself the logic in buying KDB and Sterling if they are expected to play along side Silva , Kun & Yaya

The first two are our future whilst the latter are not and thats the brutal truth going forward, however much we love them.

Thats the reason they have been signed and no doubt with pep in mind.

Would he? We won't know until he gets a game watching Mangala at the moment the kid wouldn't do any worse.

Mangala didn't play well last night but I thought he was quite good against Leicester. It's not easy to do your job well when also having to cover for an often absent LB.

I thought you were very unlucky against Spurs and I wasn't looking forward to away games at Leicester or Watford. As it was I thought the game at Watford was the more difficult game. We dug it out in the end but if you are going to get beat, you do it by giving your all and you certainly did that.

Watford have a good manager and a team of which to be proud.

I thought Mangala played well again. If anything he was the better of the two centre-backs. It was Otamendi who got spun by Ighalo in the 1st half.

I don't think Pellegrini taking him off did him any favours image wise but I think manager and players will know that we were up against it away at Watford and leicester without Kompany. We needed Manglala and Otamendi to come good and in fact they have. The struggle now is to get more out of the attacking players
