Watford post match thread

Poor performance. Man of the match was the Sheiks check book. We bought that win with two pieces of individual brilliance.

Right now, that's just fine with me.

Would have been nice if Arsenal hadn't won but Leicester drew so I'd say it was a successful day.

Huge win in very difficult conditions. Two brilliant goals out of the blue, after squandering some much better chances. Defence looked ropey, but did enough to really stop them from having much in the way of genuine opportunities. Only really the Ighalo chance where he breezed past Otamendi in the first half, then the Capoue chance when we were chasing the game and he bundled through both Otamendi and Fernandinho. You can't really do much about your leftback inexplicably deciding to flick a corner into his own net.

The attack looked a bigger problem, with Sterling, Kolarov, Yaya and Aguero all having pretty shocking games until two of them decided to pull great goals out of the bag. Great to get an away win though and hopefully the manner of it as well will help build confidence so we can kick on.

I don't know how to respond to that. We somehow escaped with 3 points and i'm absolutely ecstatic but yet again individual moments of brilliance has saved us after an abysmal performance. We can't go all season relying on that. Why did we only start running in the last 10 minutes? We were fucking awful

Palace Arsenal United and Spurs have all beat Watford away. They've yet to beat a side above them, It's not a particularly difficult place to go to, they went into todays game 9th and we had just 1 player missing from our strongest team. There's really no excuses for a performance like that. We got away with it big time today, that's not going to happen every week but i fear with Pellegrini in charge it's our only hope.

Two, Kompany and Nasri.... believe me, we're missing Samir really badly!

THAT was your money's worth, grapple fans. It's why I watch the damn game. F****** come on City!

Phew!

Watford practically matched us stride for stride. The days of teams parking the bus against us is over as most teams seem to be looking us square in the face and beckoning us on for a scrap. Pellegrini surprised me by taking off Mangala and bringing on Bony which gave us more attacking options and made us defensively less vulnerable. The future looks bleak for Mangala and he needs to sort his form out immediately.

I thought Manuel might have gone with 3 at the back, but his switch to get the goals and then to bring on MD to shore us up defensively showed that he can be tactically expansive, but this only seems to come about when his back is against the wall. Great to see Aguero on the score sheet and I thought Yaya did very well for the final 20 minutes.

A win is a win and its another 3 points in the bag, but it doesn't detract from the fact we looked less than ordinary and less than the sum of our parts for the vast majority of the game. Roll on Everton.

Haha!! Not like you mate.... ;-)

Twas fucking shite for 75 mins but i dont care right now.

That said, performances like that cant go unnoticed and some of the players and manager have to ask themselves some hard fucking questions they really do.

Tonight though i dont fucking care, 3 points and 7 from the last 9.
