wayne bridge - mancini is my only handicap

i got as far as "by neil ashton".

if bridge wasn't such a grabbing twat & was prepared to take a pay cut to, say, £50,000 a week he'd have no problem in continuing his career elsewhere. but no, he prefers to take almost twice that for doing fuck all at city, leaving his career to stagnate to the point that when his contract finally runs out he'll probably end up at blackpool on £10,000 a week.

I struggle to feel sorry for someone who is on 90k a week and gets to wake up to Frankie every morning.

He's 31 been sat around doing F all for best part of 2 years...

Its the championship for you Wayne my boy.

See you later!!!

Mr Bridge, your handicap is at the lower end of your right leg, where you will find a pristine completely unused right peg. To say that you've had a career as a footballer, at the top level and even winning trophies is quite amazing given that you are the most lop-sided, one footed, hopeless waster of a footballer that ever existed. Please go away.

You shape up; man up; improve; get selected and keep your place. Or, you get found out - you're not actually that good; you may have been a step up from the person you took over from but, when you're at a club like City, which is evolving and improving into the fantastic footballing monster it is now, players like Bridge - and several others Hughes signed - get found out.
I have nothing against him, but, from day 1, I never thought he was THAT good - and if that's how I see him, God knows what Mancini, a pro football manager sees.
When you've gotta go, you've gotta go. Time for you to step down a level or 2 Wayne. Good luck to you, but as you're on £90k+ per week more than most of us, I won't be shedding a tear for you no matter how much you might bleat to the press.

My Christmas message to Mr Bridge.... Clear off and play some football, stop moaning and make everyone happy.

I feel I am letting my mum and dad down and they basically live for following me around and watching me play football.
'I hate that my parents can't come and watch me or Frankie, who loves to watch football, can't come with her mum and dad.
'It is like I am letting them down as well because they are so proud to see me out there playing.

Don't know why everyone is so much on the back of players who came to City in good faith. No one put a gun to CIty's head when they doled out these deals. So City should stand by the deals. And City fans should stop acting like 4 year old pricks who can't see beyond their infantile positions.

Just like many before him, Bridge has done nothing wrong. He was courted by City, contracted by City, and promised to be paid by City. That City has now gone on to find others who are better is not Bridges fault. Bridge never advertised himself as the best player alive. If CIty was poor in its evaluations of worth, that too is City's fault. You can't have your cake and eat it too. Which is what City and infant-like section of our fanbase want.

The reason Bridge is on 90k a week is coz City wanted to make it hard for other teams to compete with the advantages of coming to City. But we should also realize that these also has its downsides. As in players we deem unfit or not good enough too will be hard to discard once we have signed them. This attitude that said players should now help us out, is as stupid as it is laughable.

Why should Bridge work in the interest of Manchester City. I say City pay off the contracts of players they don't want, or let them off on a free. And can we stop with the pride argument. It is annoying!

I have no doubt City would let Bridge out on a free, but not on a free and paying his wages. Bridge nowhere in this article addresses why he did not go to Celtic. He would doubtlessbe onthe same money just Celtic contributing a portion of it likewise if he went to a CHampionship club. Yes CIty have to take a financial hit when they sign a player on too much money but it doesnot have to be his entire wage bill if he is prepared to act like a professional and play elsewhere on loan.

Bellamy was prepared to play elsewhere as was Adebayor unlike others I have sympathy with both of these players. I have very little for Bridge who does not appear to want to play football elsewhere. WHen he comes to the end of his contract with DCity he can either point to playing elsewhere and making a decent fist of it or languishing n the stiffs and not being prepared to play elsewhere, not someone who I would be looking to bring into a club I was managing.

Hopefully by the start of next season, we have cleaned all the rubbish from the club - Tevez, Adebayor, Crocky, Bridge. It'll be like a sack of rocks off the back of the club to have the trouble-causers and wage thieves gone. Still not sure we'll be able to shift Crocky and Bridge on permanent transfers but John Williams is paid to do that if he's still here by then. There has to be a compromise somewhere even if it's free transfers for Crocky and Bridge so the clubs can pay them good wages with the money saved.

I don't agree about Santa Cruz. He was a good striker with an injury problem. It's not his fault it didn't work out at City.

True, he had worked for Hughes before, but show me the interview where he says one bad word against City, or one instance of him causing trouble on or off the field. He has moved on to continue his career, albeit on loan (not his fault).

I have a lot of respect for RSC, and would applaud him if he played again at the Etihad, either for or against us. He is certainly not in the same mould as Tevez, Adebayor and Bridge.

Let's put this into perspective, profession Wayne bridge footballer, well play fkn football then, their are millions of kids and men out there who would love to be able to do that. Man up bridge, you Ashton if your reading this grow some you arse licking hack. Merry Christmas to you both.

He talks about wanting to play so that his parents can go and watch him and about making them proud. Think that's a lovely sentiment, BUT as the saying goes, 'Actions speak louder than words' Wayne.
If he feels so strongely about Southampton why doesn't he get his agent to engineer a move there if they'd have him.
Bottom line is he went to West Ham and didn't perform. That's no surprise to City fans who saw him play under Hughes.
Another point is I think that Mancini likes his players to be in a stable relationship (Balo excepted) cos it's one less thing for him to worry about and Wayne wasn't with his ex-misses living so far away!
