Am i wrong in thinking that Bridge had split up with his ex before Terry got involved with her ?
If that is the case then i don't see what the problem is, what his ex gets up to when they are no longer together is absolutely nothing to do with him.
If i've got it wrong and Terry was involved with her whilst she was living with Bridge then i apologise.

So you would be absolutely fine if one of your best mates walked into the pub with your longstanding ex?

Quite happy to buy them both a pint? Whilst she discusses how you both matched up in bed?

Yes or No?

Not having a go promise, but this line of thought, that because its the ex its alright is beyond me. Maybe Terry should have asked Bridge how he would feel 1st of all.

You'd be a good mate. The ones who don't see the problem do seem like the shifty sort of rat you'd expect to try to move on to your missus the minute your back is turned.

There are lines you don't cross, sisters, mums, aunts and exes are all out unless you've asked permission first. Standard shiznit really.

I know this sounds harsh, but....

He should just man up, and get on with it. He doesn't have to talk to Terry, hang around with him, or even look at him. He can just avoid him and steer clear of him. By doing this he is only making the situation in the dressing room worse, being unfair to Capello, and ruining his own hopes of playing in a World Cup, which alot of footballers out there would give their right hand to play in. Do you think that everyone in the England team are bosom pals? Bridge is hardly whiter than white himself, he gets no sympathy from me.
american or gay?

Behave yourself, once the person is an 'ex' then you have no say at all in anything to do with their lives.

Agreed, I recall a couple of years back, my best mate pointedly said to me to stay away and not contact his ex. This is a girl I had known for a number of years and also regarded as a friend in her own right, but you do respect that code. Anything else I am afraid is completely unacceptable.

I actually gave another mate of mine a well paid job a few years back when he was sacked by his family, he started going out with my ex-wife after we had split but before we divorced. Did I have a problem with this? Yes I thought it was sneaky, snidey and vindictive. When your kids are involved, it makes polite conversation almost impossible.

They have now split up and they have both tried to make amends and re-build relationships with me. Am I interested? Am I fuck? Do I have a problem? No but I certainly don't want to socialise with them. Call me immature if you like.

My point with regards to the pint still stands, would you want to drink with your best mate if he was present with your ex partner? Me no

Agreed, you have no say, doesn't mean you have to have anything to do with them. That is not the sort of friend that I would want. Maybe your values are different to mine thats all. It appears that Bridge is of similar like mind to me.

ive not read the whole topic but i was listening to talksport on the way home and durham reckons bridge is wrong in doing this because its england he has drooped and cant understand why he just does not man up and get on with it others in here may have this opinion as well!

i totally disagree with these opinions and fully understand and would back bridges decision, you just don't forget what has happened to bridge and man up as some would say and get on with it,if by man up means ripping terrys head off then yes i agree because that is what i would of done regardless of whether i was with the girl or not.

terry is an arrogant gutless tosser of the highest order for all that has happened regardless of his football quality's and his importance for england at the world cup as some might think, he as the balls to wait for cappello to sack him as England captain instead of himself standing down, no apologizes have came from terry in any shape or form and he all so gets time off to sort his marriage out taking the piss in dubai with his wife who by the way must be fooking mental to get back with him parading in front of the cameras as though nothing has happened.

its a shame that bridge has made this decision to quit England as much as his family and private life is more important as a footballer it must of hurt something hard to give up playing for England instead of the arrogant tosser that is terry!

Am I missing something hear, Bridge is the innocent party in all this, he has done absolutely nothing wrong, its Terry who sh-t on his own wife and his mate.
Bridge has kept a dignified silence in all this, no running to Max Clifford or selling his story to Heat or any other of those rags.

If people read his statement he said

It has always been an honour to play for England," said Bridge.
"However, after careful thought, I believe my position in the squad is now untenable and potentially divisive."

He obviously doesn’t fancy the idea of sharing a hotel etc with Terry but he doesn’t want the squad to be split into two camps depending on who the players stay friends with.
He has acted dignified all the way and he is our player we should all stick by him, not stick the knife in

If it was me I would have stayed, I know Capello is going to have to earn his money this weekend.

It will be interesting to see what happens Saturday, now this decision has been made, Barry, Swp and Lescott are all likely to be called up on Sunday. If one of our lads goes over the top saturday, it will make things very Frosty Sunday.
