The big consideration for Pelligrini will be some that play in this game may have to be rested for the Home game against Burnley on the 28th.

I would go WBA vs City:

Hart,
Zabaleta, Demichelis , Managala, Clichy
Navas, Fernandinho, Yaya, Nasri
Silva, Milner

(Subbing Silva, Nasri and Yaya if we cruising)

then for City vs Burnley

Hart,
Sagna, Demichelis , Kompany (if fit), Kolarov
Navas, Fernando, Lampard, Nasri
Silva, Jovetic (if fit)

Lot of people seeing this as a banana skin game for us, without any rhyme or reason. Why on earth we should fear the baggies, irrespective of our injuries is beyond me.

In each of the last three seasons we've dropped 10-12 points in away matches against bottom half teams. A Boxing Day clash against a leading club is one of those matches when the minnows tend to raise their game. If we start the game well and are on our game we shouldnt have too much problem. But its far from a given.

Agreed. Treat them with respect. Go out with high tempo from the start, don't let them settle and don't let them gain confidence by having decent spells of possession. An early goal (or two!) would be ideal; draw them out of their own half to try to get back into the game and hit them on the counter attack. A comfortable two or three goal win will do me nicely; Navas to chip in with a goal or two (don't think he's scored yet in the PL, has he?).

You will have to help me out here as to why you think I siad we shouldn't respect the baggies.

What I actually posted is that we should not fear them. The breadth and depth of our squad is far superior to what they have, and couple with our respective forms, I reiterate, we should not fear them.

I do agree on respecting each adversary though.

For those lucky bastards going a few song requests apart from the usual ones:

Jingle bells, jingle bells....
Never felt more like singing the blues.....
yaya,kolo
You're only here for the city..(lame but always find this a cheeky chant, Palace did that to us and it cracked me up) .

sing em loud and proud, have a great day!!!

Exactly thanks for saying this. WBA is not exactly poor at home, we need to field our best, and we're too good to drop points now on a draw. I'm betting on 3-1 win for us and hope we bring our best game. I would put Silva up front if possible, or go with the system we had in the last game.

With Chelsea kicking off earlier than City on Boxing Day (i.e. v West Ham) they could be 6 pts ahead of us by the time we start v WBA at the Hawthorns. Thus as with all games these days 3 vital pts needed against a WBA side struggling after the deafest at QPR.

Hopefully Joleen Lescott has scored his goal for this season for WBA and has no nasty surprises for us. Wonder if Berahino will start for West Brom.

Still feel City can be vulnerable away, at home feel we can beat anyone under any circumstances.

A Bit of Silva magic and Toure power the order of the day for the West Brom game..

similiar post when the chavs were going to play newcastle for an early kick off , and it was a formality blah blah blah , going 9 points clear blah blah blah , then they royally f*cked it up and lost to the Geordies. Lets remember one thing , our team has dealt with the pressure of winning the title twice , mourinho and his mob have won f*ck all recently and all their talk of winning the quadruple just increases the pressure on his unproven team.
We also have the best away record in the premiership , i bet a lot of teams in the premiership would like our vulnerable away record W6 D2 L1 .

I think it was your first sentence we disagreed with.

Put your £5 on a goal from Mangala - gets better every match.

He does, and it wont be too long before he nets his first for us, and I'll be chuffed to bits for him. Seems to be settling in now.

Funnily enough, I said exactly the same thing to the guy next to me last season when I said Martin had a goal in him and bugger me, he scored within 10 mins of me saying that.

He was very effective in one match flicking on corners from the near post. Given the generally abysmal quality of our setpieces, I am surprised we haven't use this idea more.
